Zoey Dollaz has made his dreams a reality. Standing on a Miami shore, the South Florida rapper was clearly in his element at the Rolling Loud music festival. HipHopDX caught up with him after his set on Sunday (May 7).
“I pretty much rock with everybody from here,” he tells DX. “Either you’re a homie or you’re family. One or the other.”
As he glanced around at everyone coming and going, Zoey’s eyes lit up as he talked about expanding his family to Atlanta. He’s currently signed to Future’s Freebandz label, a membership he proudly displays in ink on his left hand. It’s proof the Freebandz leader believes in him.
“It’s an inspirational thing being a fan of somebody and to know that they want you to join them,” he says.

What’s the greatest lesson he’s learned from the super trapper? How to work hard. Future is known for being a studio rat and it’s what Zoey has picked up on from being part of the crew.
“Just work hard, work hard, don’t stop, don’t take no breaks,” he says. “Even if you’re winning, you’re not winning.”
He’s living out that philosophy by releasing the Nobody’s Safe mixtape, a 12-track project purposely named after Future’s Nobody Safe Tour, which also features Zoey on the bill.

“It’s just a mixtape that me and my DJ sat down together and said we was gonna put a project out before my actual EP come out,” Zoey says, adding that he’s shooting for a May 18 release for the EP. “So we just decided to put some of my unreleased music together, some of the features and put it out. Just for the fans, to keep the fans happy.”
Zoey can be found traveling the country alongside Future, A$AP Ferg, Migos and Tory Lanez. He wants to take full advantage of the crowds his more well-known tourmates will draw and aims to “just gain more fans, get more people to know my music and have more of a household name for music.”
Having the crowd going crazy in his own backyard at one of Hip Hop’s elite festivals was a good start.
