Even though 2014 Forest Hills Drive was released a year and a half ago, J. Cole is still reaping the rewards from his third studio album. The cut “No Role Modelz” is now certified platinum by the RIAA, the organization announced on Twitter yesterday (May 19).
This is the North Carolina spitter’s third song to sell more than one million copies. The other two tracks are “Power Trip,” featuring Miguel, from Born Sinner and Cole’s breakout single “Work Out,” which appears on Cole World: The Sideline Story.
The RIAA changed its certification process earlier this year to include audio and video streams into its sales reports.
2014 Forest Hills Drive was certified platinum in January before the rules change.
