Nas To Executive Produce New Erykah Badu Film

According to AllHipHop.com, Queens, New York lyricist Nas will serve as executive producer and producer of the soundtrack to a new film by Erykah Badu.

The film is titled The Land, and is written by Steve Caple Jr. and Lizzie Friedman. Caple Jr., who Nas previously doted on, also helped in directing the film.

“[I’m a] huge fan of my man Steve Caple Jr. I think he can become the next great filmmaker. [I’m] also, very excited to be working with my former agent and friend Charles King on his first film with his new venture. All great energy around the film, which I believe will yield amazing results,” Nas said while speaking with Variety.

The Land focuses on four teenagers in Cleveland, Ohio who are in search of a better life. Both Erykah Badu and Michael K. Williams will lend their acting talents for the film.

The Land is slated to premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, next month.

    1. Badu, you could never be Beyonce. Should have got HOV to executive produce and do the soundtrack. Going with Nas you’re guaranteed to lose.

      1. Why would Badu want to be Beyonce? One is pop singer who doesn’t write her own music and is a manufactured product. The other is a musician who writes her own music and is a true artist. Same goes for the Nas/Jay Z comparison. You must be young.

    2. I see the fake me is one step ahead of me again, but totally agree. Anything with Nas’ name attached to it is bound to suck, but his stans will continue to be on his dick.

      1. “Anything with Nas’ name attached to it is bound to suck” In what universe does that happen because it sure ain’t this one. Keep lying, though.

    3. “Both Erykah Badu and Michael K. Williams will lend their acting talents for the film.”

Uh, Erykah’s acting talent? What acting? I’m with dude that said anything with Nas’ name on it will be bad.

    4. All of Nas albums are classics, however besides Reasonable Doubts, most of Jay Z catalog sounds dated, like “yeah that is what was hot in 2002 or whatever the release year”, with all the played out artist that you just skip to the track. Great investment Nas…. Erykah is a winner…
