An N.W.A reunion tour is in the works with Eminem as a possible honorary member of the group, according to an interview published in the July 31 issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

Universal chief Donna Langley is planning on reuniting N.W.A for a European tour to help promote the Straight Outta Compton film about the group, which is due in theaters August 14.

“We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules,” Donna says. “But we think it can create a lot of buzz.”

Eminem also reportedly performs on the film’s soundtrack, as do Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar, among others.

Elsewhere in The Hollywood Reporter interview, Ice Cube says that he hopes that the documentary-film depicting the Compton, California rap group impacts people.

“Hopefully the movie inspires new artists to be outspoken about anything that we are frustrated with,” Ice Cube says.

“Music does have the power to move people,” Cube continues. “So hopefully this inspires young artists not to be afraid to say what they feel, do what they feel, do it how they want to do it and not be subjected to the social parameters that’s out there. Do what you feel and let the art speak for itself.”

Dr. Dre says he hopes that the film keeps conversations of social justice and police brutality alive.

“The movie is definitely going to shine a light on the problem, especially today with all the situations that have been happening with Mike Brown in Ferguson and Ezell Ford here in Los Angeles,” Dre says. “It’s definitely going to keep this situation in people’s minds and make sure that everybody out there understands this is still a problem that’s happening today.”
