The forthcoming N.W.A. biopicStraight Outta Compton is slated to provide fans of early 1990s Gangsta Rap an opportunity to relive the Los Angeles group’s rise in the Hip Hop game. Now, there may be even more reason to watch the film.

Director F. Gary Gray recently sat down with MTV and talked with them about the movie’s music. Among the gems he dropped was an announcement that both Kendrick Lamar and long-time Dr. Dre collaborator Eminem would appear on Straight Outta Compton‘s soundtrack. He also described what else the movie’s music was like.

“The music is so good. [Dr. Dre] went deep and you can hear some of his influences with jazz and soul and a little bit of funk,” he said when describing the soundtrack. “It’s really Dre and how he’s evolved and how he’s matured not only as a person but as an artist and it’s great.”

Straight Outta Compton is slated to hit theaters on August 14.
