Following this week’s release of A$AP Rocky’s At.Long.Last.A$AP album, one track in particular has garnered a great deal of attention. The record, titled “Better Things,” touches on an encounter the Harlem, New York rapper allegedly had with fellow artist, Rita Ora.
On “Better Things,” A$AP Rocky raps: “Swear that bitch Rita Ora got a big mouth/ Next time I see her might curse the bitch out/ Kicked the bitch out once ’cause she bitched out/ Spit my kids out, jizzed up all in her mouth and made the bitch bounce.”
According to the A$AP Mob lyricist, he included that particular line on the song because Rita Ora was vocal about their encounter at a time when he was in a relationship.
“I just want to clarify, this isn’t me saying: People don’t go listen to Rita Ora, or she’s an ugly person, or nothing,” Billboard.com reports A$AP Rocky told BBC’s Annie Mac. “I’m not saying she’s a terrible person, I’m just saying that when I was in a relationship and I did things with her that I wasn’t supposed to do, she had a big mouth.”

And in a separate interview with Hot 97, Rocky revealed that “Better Things” was a song that was written a while ago.
“You gotta realize, I say what I want. And I’m expressing a situation that happened. I feel bad that people just keep talking about that…I’mma be honest with you, man. That’s a really old song. I was in a relationship when I made that song. So, I’m referring to trouble that that girl caused. And I’m being precise when I said ‘She talks a lot.’”
During his interview with Hot 97, he also addressed Hip Hop purists critical of his sound and how authentic it is to the sound of New York.
“Can I ask you something? Do y’all think French Montana sounds like New York? What does New York sound like? He’s amazing,” the rapper said. “This is my thing, there is no New York sound. We didn’t have a sound since 50 Cent, G-Unit, and Dipset. We didn’t have a sound since. If you listen to Fetty Wap, he don’t sound like he from Jersey. He sound like he from Atlanta…That shit is dope.”
