Jay Z Talks #TIDALFACTS

Jay Z does’t use his Twitter account often.

Today (April 26) the Hip Hop mogul took to Twitter to endorse his recently-acquired music streaming service, TIDAL, in what he described as a “stream of consciousness.”

He assured his followers that TIDAL is “doing just fine.”

“We have over 770,000 subs,” he wrote via Twitter. “We have been in business less than one month.”

Addressing the competitors in the streaming space, Jay wrote, “The iTunes Store wasn’t built in a day. It took Spotify 9 years to be successful…”

Many of his Tweets were followed by the hashtag “#TidalFacts.”

Jay pleaded with followers on the social media site at one point, assuring followers that the brand is “here for the long haul.”

“Please give us a chance to grow & get better,” he wrote. “We made Tidal for fans. We have more than just music. We have video, exclusive concerts, tickets for events early, live sports!…”

Since the company’s recent overhaul, Hov has shared many of these sentiments during interviews, lectures at universities and events.

      1. Because he’s stating facts? I really don’t think he sounds mad. In fact, if anybody is communicating by stating facts, I don’t think it really entails being mad.

      1. hahahaha you actually bought that? youre hilarious. I hope you got the platinum service to play on your beats headphones to match you’re douchebag t-shirt

    1. I’m glad Jay stated a few facts. When it comes down to it, nobody wants change or see somebody succeed (especially a minorty). Keep doing your thing Jay. Don’t let a hater or bumford and bum slow you down.

    2. It’s a complete failure let it go. Jay-Z needs to go back to letting other people make money for him. All his own business moves without advice have been failures. This will be a failure just like the “new rules” with his last album

      1. For sure. No business sense at all. Only half a billion dollars? Pffftttt…..come on now. The guy couldn’t manage a McDonald’s….

    3. Naw j you know this is a big l. You did all that media attention last month ln facebook, had nicki and B promoting it and no one looked. Numbers dont lie homie, ah ha….

    4. “If you don’t want the CEOs all in the videos” I’m sure Jay feels comfortable saying this famous Suge quote now that its looking like the guy will be spending the rest of his life in prison lol.

    5. Jay, need’s to relax, this company is even less than a year of existence, it will take time, coz all businesses take time to develop. I’m just happy to see a guy try something else, I’m proud of Jay for even doing the Samsung thing, even if people said it failed but it’s a good thing he tried it. That is why he is so successful, he will be much more successful if he tries doing different things.

    6. The “Tidal is doing just fine. We have over 770,000 subs. We have been in business less than one month.” tweet is a bit misleading. Tidal in its current incarnation may have been around one month, but the majority (at least 500k) of those subscribers were inherited from WiMP. And apparently the majority of the 500k were acquired through partner deals with telcos, with numbers steadily declining over the past two years.

Also not sure how it took Spotify 9 years to be successful. It launched in 2008 and had 10m subscribers less than two years after that.
