J. Cole wrote a song with the date of his birthday, “January 28”, as the title to help set the personal tone for his album 2014 Forest Hills Drive.

Coincidentally, it is also Rick Ross’ birthday.

Among the many regards both of them have received via social media, Drake decided to wish his rapper pal’s “happy birthday” as well.

“Of course to my BROTHER in this shit,” Drake says in the caption with a photo of the two shaking hands. “This whole business is a grey blur. Thanks for keeping it black and white with me always (lightskin pun intended). Enjoy your day and congrats on everything this year. @realcoleworld”

Despite rumors of a rivalry between the two rappers, Drake and Cole frequently collaborate.

Last year, Drake made a surprise appearance at J. Cole’s “Dollar and a Dream” concert in Los Angeles.

During the show, Drake announced, “There’s only two kings in this shit right now. They’re standing on this stage.”

The Toronto rapper also wished Rick Ross a happy birthday on the social media site.
