According to Coolio, a former writer at TMZ was responsible for spreading the rumor that he would be releasing an album through the pornography website, Pornhub. The rapper revealed that the TMZ writer, who he says was ultimately fired, was invited to the video shoot for his record “Take It To The Hub” and after attending the shoot “made up” a story about an album to be released through Pornhub.
As a result of his “Take It To The Hub” song, Coolio says that he did have the opportunity to meet one of the Pornhub execs in Las Vegas and added that he’d be willing to put out three albums through Pornhub if they offered him enough money.
“Man, you know what? That’s TMZ with they punk ass,” Coolio said during an interview with Vlad TV. “I can’t really blame TMZ themselves. I let a female that worked for TMZ—I let her come to the video shoot. I let her come to the video shoot and she went back and made up some bullshit. Guess what? That bitch got fired. She got fired [early]. I think somebody kicked her in her ass on the way out the door… The song is called ‘Take It To The Hub.’ Take it to the Pornhub. I met the dude. One of the cats. One of the execs at Pornhub, bro. We just hit it off. We had a good time out in Vegas. He hit me on the phone. We had lunch. Chilled. We kicked it. We went to the pool. We just had fun…He tried to reach out put some money in a brotha pocket. And do some cool shit for his website. Hell nah. But you know what? I tell you what. How about this? Let Pornhub give me enough money. I’ll put out three mothafuckin albums on Pornhub.”
Coolio then spoke on the importance of speaking out and raising a fuss when it concerns rumors and other issues that may pertain to him now that he’s 51-years-old.

“Over the years I’ve tried to be—Not talk shit,” he said. “Not raise a fuss about nothing, man…Let’s be real about it. I’m 51. My life is more than half over. I will not live another 51 years. I don’t want to live another 51 years. Especially with the shit that mothafuckas finna go through around here. So, certain shit I gotta start saying just so it could be said. And then one day when they do that Coolio tribute and shit they’ll have a bunch of pieces of shit that I said. And they, you know, if I—I’m trying to get around to doing my biography.”
Coolio also clarified last year’s rumor about him selling his music catalog. According to the rapper, that particular rumor was “a ploy” to figure out how much his catalog was worth and to also get people talking about him again.
“It was a ploy,” Coolio said. “I wanted to see how much my shit was worth and for free. Without paying nobody to see how much it was worth. And I just wanted to do something. Niggas wasn’t talking about me…So, I just needed to stir some shit.”
