Kanye West’s DONDA and Jay Z’s Roc Nation announced a partnership today (May 3).
“Kanye West‘s creative house DONDA enters into partnership with Roc Nation to manage all DONDA Music,” the Life + Times announcement says. “The partnership will focus on Mr. West’s international recording brand and worldwide touring ventures.”
DONDA is a design company that West announced in 2012 and the company has worked with various entities, including Louis Vuitton, Nike and adidas. DONDA has also worked on album packaging and tour designs for 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Lil Wayne and Kanye West and Jay Z on their Watch The Throne campaign.
“DONDA is a design company which will galvanize amazing thinkers and put them in a creative space to bounce [their] dreams and ideas,” Kanye West said at the time DONDA was announced. “I am assembling a team of architects, graphic designers, directors musicians, producers, AnRs, writers, publicist, social media experts, app guys, managers, car designers, clothing designers, DJs, video game designers, publishers, tech guys, lawyers, bankers, nutritionist[s], doctors, scientist, teachers.” He also said that DONDA would be “comprised of over 22 divisions with a goal to make products and experiences that people want and can afford.”

Roc Nation was founded in 2008 and it has worked in management; merchandising; music; film and television. Its roster includes Jay Z, Shakira, Rihanna, J. Cole and Timbaland. The company has also expanded to create Roc Nation Sports, an agency that includes Robinson Cano and Kevin Durant, among others.
