This week, Beyonce continues to reign at the top of the Billboard Top 200 chart with her self-titled album. Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP lands at #6, an improvement from last week’s placement at #8. Also this week, B.o.B and Lox debuted on the chart with Underground Luxury and The Trinity EP, respectively.
Beyonce’s Self-Titled Album Remains #1
Beyonce’s self-titled visual album took home the #1 spot this week, selling 373,803 units in its second week of sales. This was the first week of availability for physical copies of the self-titled project, which has moved more than 991,000 units overall. The album’s #1 spot was in spite of Target’s refusal to sell Beyonce. Recently, Beyonce spoke about the album’s release strategy. “People experience music differently,” Beyonce said. “Now people only listen to a few seconds of a song on their iPods. They don’t really invest on a whole album. It’s all about the single and the hype. There’s so much that gets between the music and the artist and the fans. I felt like, I don’t want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it’s ready from me to my fans.”
Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2 Lands At #6
Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2, which has sold more than 1,605,000 units overall, landed in the #6 slot with approximately 115,000 units sold this week, the project’s seventh week of availability. The project improved in placement, as it was #8 last week. Eminem released his “The Monster” video early in the week. The video pairs Eminem with Rihanna in a clip that places the Detroit, Michigan rapper in various scenes from past music videos.
B.o.B Debuts In Top 30 With Underground Luxury
B.o.B’s Underground Luxury sold 35,000 units this week. The sales figure landed B.o.B at #22. B.o.B recently spoke about the sound of the album and its title. “I want to say that this project is a project that is kind of like a contrasting title, you know, Underground Luxury,” B.o.B. said in an interview with Montreality. “I would say, to paraphrase it, this is connecting the dots, from who I was as an artist before the major success to where I’m at now. And it’s a lot more unfiltered and unedited than anything I’ve ever done. So I think it’s going to be a great project, great, monumental, career shifting project. I’m actually done with it, but we’re really just having fun with it, man. We’re making a movie, you know, me and my team. We’re just kind of sitting back and watching everything, watching how people respond to music.”
Lox Have Top 150 Release With The Trinity EP
Lox dropped its The Trinity EP with a surprise release this week. The project used a similar strategy as the one Beyonce revealed for her self-titled release. The surprise drop helped Lox land in the #141 spot with The Trinity EP. The project sold approximately 8,000 units this week. Recently, Sheek Louch spoke about the project and addressed speculation regarding its inspiration. “I can honestly say, it wasn’t based upon the Beyonce thing,” Sheek said to allhiphop.com. “You know, when both of them [Styles P & Jadakiss] called me and said, ‘Get on that,’ it had nothing to do with none of that shit.”

No Dre beats and has been destroyed by Papoose and now Drake…kendrick is all hype no substance!!!!!!!!
Papoose and Drake didn’t destroy shit. Kendrick actually has substance of you actually listen to the music.
Papoose? HAHAHA!! That nigga’s a joke.
Papoose’s version was horrible… keep spelling out words to have more rhymes, I’m sure all 6 of your fans were impressed Pap.
“we laugh at you like he, he, he”
yeah, papoose really destroyed kendrick..
“i hear you talking about your city like you run there, then i bought my tour to your city, you my son there”
yeah, drake really destroyed kendrick.. idiot..
“kendrick lamar has no substance”
funny, how you listen to his music and it seems like he is the only rapper that still has substance.
You must be a Drake groupie. Faggot.
35,000 people seriously spent their money on Bob’s album?? WHY
i downloaded it
B.o.B’s albums was straight trash. His mix-tapes are always on point , His albums are more towards the POP audience but this is just trap music trash!
MMLP2 will go 2x platinum…maybe 3x platinum if Em puts out another video
How can Kendrick sell 7,2000?
best album of the last 6 years
last weekend before christmas
Drake still outselling him.
And no one cares.
B still sellin 300k of physical shit, man she got some dedicated fans. No surprise Feminem sellin shit that nigga went pop to sell records. Half the shit on the album is pop shit and that shit was wack. Rozays mastermind gon be the first classic album of 14. Bank on that.
Bawse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*BUZZER* Incorrect.
you say that as in before he didn’t sell records and needed to go pop. dumb fuck you are..he sells regardless..get your facts straight..mastermind wont sell more than 200k first week
Yo gotti stayin strong he has a good buzz in the streets and the album is a banger
50 Cent lost his career, it is so sad that he lost the streets and need up being the favorite rapper of nerdy wiggers

50 sucks, he was overhyped gangster trash.
what was ja rules last single?
the flop lox album sold more in 1 week than the last ja rule album sold in 2 years
B.o.B flopped.
Damn bob flopped
B.o.B’s album is still good despite the low sales. I still don’t understand why rap fans make a big deal about sales when most of them don’t buy albums anyway. Out of all the rap albums released in 2013 only about five of them moved a lot of units (Cole, Drake, Jay, Eminem, Kanye). There are no real fans anymore…just people who ride the wave..
finally, somebody on this website gets it
You like someone you are a dick rider in todays age
you dislike someone you are a hater.
yall fans are the fucking worst.
cosign
true. only you are a dickrider. i feel you though bigg k.
J Cole and Kanye didn’t move alot of units, so stop reaching.
@anonymous – so over 600K isn’t a lot?? Smh..
cole and kanye are among the top 10 best selling rap albums of 2013 fool
It really depends on the artist. If they have love for their fans, the fans respond back to that love shown. I am a hardcore Mac Miller fan and I copped his album when it came out, of course I listened to the leak, but that just made me want to cop the physical copy even more. He didn’t do that bad with 101,000 sold on the first week, but it was all real fans. People like Drake and Kanye and Jay Z get those sales numbers because it’s mainstream and that’s all the radio plays nowadays.
Most of the rap fans steal music, so I’m not sure why people get crazy about the numbers. If you don’t buy it, then they don’t sell it.
The rappers who sell the most are the best just face it. Eminem sells the most and it isnt a coincidence that he is the best.
“The rappers who sell the most are the best just face it.”
That isn’t always true.
So is Vanilla Ice better than KRS-One?
CAN’T TOUCH THIS!!!!
Nelly Chingy n Souljah Boy are better than Cormega Killer Mike and Immortal Technique then? Fuckin retarded statement rite there
yes i love eminem too, but sells dont mean shit. its about your mic skills bro.
mc hammers top 5 dead or alive and thats just off one lp
Respect to the LOX and anyone that bought the ep. Really need to get that album out now no one is expecting it too sell much but the fans and hip hop heads who supported for all these years deserve that real street hip hop
Those 4 songs sucked. 8400 people probably downloaded it off ITunes on blind faith not knowing they’d curse themselves within an hour.

B.O.B is done he never going to sell another gold album he alienated his pop fans and community he made and tried to wind back hip hop fans now they don’t believe him and the Pop fans moved on he has to figure out what genre he’s trying to be cause he’s losing steam 35,000 in first week sales at Christmas time? Is bad he’s in trouble with this album its going to flop hard.
as an accountant for YMCMB I can confirm that with the numbers we have been receiving for our orders of Drake’s album, it is looking like Drake will be hitting double platinum before Feminem. I just got off the phone after a long conversation with the spokesperson for hits daily double, and they agreed with me.
what does A+L=OE mean
dentalbitch, a loser with no life making up lies on the internet. Nobody believes you, dentalbitch.
who listen to tity boy
Those Lox numbers are amazing. Surprised they didn’t debut at #1.
“So is Vanilla Ice better than KRS-One?”
From a commercial standpoint, yes.
But from a quality standpoint, no.
“the flop lox album sold more in 1 week than the last ja rule album sold in 2 years”
At least the Ja flop was an official album, not some 4 song crapfest.
an official album that sold less than 7000 copies in 2 years!
Uh, what?? You said at least Ja Fag’s album was a whole, real albumYeah, which makes it even worse!! Everyone knows EPs don’t sell nearly as much as real albums do! AND, there was no promotion for The Lox EP. I didn’t even know it dropped!!
B.o.B is done. He had a good run, though.
“an official album that sold less than 7000 copies in 2 years!”
Have The Lox ever sold 20 million albums? I didn’t think so.
Has Ja Rule made a good record? I didn’t think so.
“But from a quality standpoint, no”
So you’d rather be a lyrical old man with some money than a one hit wonder with millions? I’ll give you a few minutes to rethink your stance.
Yes, I would. At least that “lyrical old man with some money” made good music unlike that one hit wonder with millions that are non-existent.
These one hit wonders don’t have millions since they blow all of the money they make that the labels pay them on cars, champagne, hookers, and other expensive shit instead of investing it on something profitable.
Drake’s numbers seem a little off.
Damn, BOB, you done flopped buddy!! Wow! I don’t understand this muthafucker, because when it comes down to it, he can actually rap! He’s an ill emcee! So what is the problem? Make some good music!!
It’s difficult for real talent to get any sales, because of all of this dummy up, hip pop, not hip hop. hip hop is DEAD. The industry is horrific and so is the music. Free Beanie Sigel and Mumia Abu Jamal.
