October is fast approaching, and fans are eagerly anticipating the release of A$AP Rocky’s studio debut LongLiveA$AP. Now, in a recent interview with MTV, the Harlem upstart warns that listeners may have to wait a little longer than the announced Halloween release date to hear the LP.
According to Rocky, the Halloween release date that was recently announced may have to be pushed back. He explained that he’s hoping the project will be completed by then, but he doesn’t want to sacrifice its quality to meet the date. He added that the album shows a different side to his craft and will prove that he’s an emcee, “not just a rapper.”
“I’m really shooting to have my album come out on Halloween, with the grace of God, but if not, around that time. It’s gonna be later this fall…hopefully [it will be Halloween], if I can reach the deadline,” he admitted.
He added in a different interview with MTV, “A year ago if I would’ve told people I’m gonna make you wait a year to drop my [album], they probably would’ve been pissed, now that the time has come I think everybody’s gonna be happy with it…I really feel good about this, I really feel deeply good about this, because I put my all into it, and it’s a different aspect of me. It’s just showing my capabilities and how much of an artist I really am — not just a rapper.”
