Ice Cube has called on Ja Rule, KRS-One and M.O.P. to perform at BIG3 basketball league’s upcoming Brooklyn game in honor of Hip Hop’s 50th Anniversary.

On Thursday (July 6), the West Coast rap legend put the flyer up featuring all three rap acts on his personal Twitter page. The performances — as well as the game itself — will be held at the Barclays Center in New York on Sunday (July 9).

“BIG3 celebrates 50 years of Hip Hop,” a banner on Cube’s tweet reads. You can purchase tickets to the event on the league’s official website.

Cube also teased a flyer of a future music tour stop which will take place at the Little Caesars arena in Detroit. The show will feature 2 Chainz, Scarface, and Trick Trick, to name a few.

Meanwhile, Ice Cube has been extremely vocal recently toward those who’ve been attempting to halt the success of the ever growing basketball league.

Last month, he talked to Joe Rogan of The Joe Rogan Experience about the NBA attempting to influence potential sponsors and broadcast networks to not partner with his three-on-three league.

“We’re not trying to compete in any shape or form with the NBA. We’re very complimentary,” he said. “So I don’t understand the things that’s being done behind the scenes. Encouraging people to not sponsor us. Encouraging networks not to play us.”

Cube explained that his growing basketball league, which he launched in 2017, will have to fight back against the NBA’s alleged campaign for it to survive and thrive in the future.

“We’ve been able to survive but at a certain point it’s just redundant and ridiculous and we gotta fight back in some shape or form,” he added.

While sharing a previous clip of his interview on Twitter, Cube added: “The league the NBA loves to hate…Welcome to the ‘Fuck The Gatekeepers Podcast Tour. First stop, @joerogan…guess who’s next?”

Ice Cube’s media tour isn’t anywhere close to being over. As he revealed last month, he’s planning to go to every major outlet in an attempt to “expose the gatekeepers” when it comes to the world of basketball.

“I’ma go talk to everybody. Everybody,” the former N.W.A rapper said in a previous video posted to Twitter. “And get a chance to get my message out to the people. Be able to let people hear from me.

“And you might agree, you might not. But the important thing is for me to go on these platforms and say what I feel about what I think.”

He continued: “Some people may get pissed off. ‘Cause I’m going to talk to everybody. I’m not playing. It’s gon’ be a crazy summer. It’s gon’ be fun.”
