The large debut this came courtesy of John Legend & The Roots‘ Wake Up! Released through Columbia/Sony Records, the G.O.O.D Music singer and the Philadelphia mainstays linked to update soulful classics, with covers of tunes by Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, Bill Withers, Harold Melvin & The Bluenotes and more. The release garnered a Top 10 debut, selling just under 65,000 first week units. Further down the charts, this summer’s album from The Roots, How I Got Over, sits just units below the 150,000 mark, with giant critical praise.
Eminem’s Recovery was challenged to #6 this week. The Detroit superstar, who has now been invited to a charity boxing match from Nick Cannon, made way for releases by Zac Brown Band, Maroon 5, Linkin Park, Selena Gomez and Santana.
Singer Trey Songz was just units behind Em with his Passion, Pain & Pleasure. Now crossing the 300,000 mark, Trey may now be Atlantic Records’ biggest star in the wake of T.I.’s legal woes. The Petersburg, Virginia native’s fourth album features Drake and Nicki Minaj. Drake’s Thank Me Later fell five spots to close out the Top 20. The Toronto emcee’s single “Fancy” gives the sensation a fourth single from his platinum-selling official debut.
Usher‘s EP, Versus moved nine spots to #25. The supplementary release to this year’s Raymond v. Raymond fell just two spots. Drumma Boy, Polow Da Don and Jim Jonsin are amoung the producers on the EP.

Damn nigga, you look like you kissin a dude in yo photo. Change that shit.
real talk i dont mean to be an angry, ignorant (and probably closet homo) type of standard american douche bag person about this but fuck man. that shit is gay, change it so we dont have to see, or keep your opinions about shit you see on this site to yourself. we dont wanna see or hear, gay ass nucca. most disturbing thing i’ve seen since the movie irreversible.
looks like your kissing em fagot, i think you have the wrong site, this cite is for hip-hop heads, not for guys that like to give head.
Wake Up! sold very well actually, more than what How I Got Over did due to the mix of John Legend and The Roots’ fans.:D

“As B.o.B. cleared begins his reach for gold”
“The Rap-A-Lot Records release features Drakem Gucci Mane and Yo Gotti,”
yo does anyone know of a good hip-hop site that uses spell check and doesn’t make retarded errors in every article they print?
let me know, i’m done with this pathetic fucking website, bunch of fucking illiterate drunks
Your voice isn’t going to reach anyone.
If you really think this site has bad grammar, you obviously haven’t heard of RapBasement.com. I found literally 12 typos in one of their news articles once. I’m not joking. Good thing I left that pathetic fucking site.
dude no doubt. this is some bullshit writing. i mean i know that some rappers hardly grasp the concept of grammar, but these are supposed to be actual writers.
That Wake Up! project sold more than I thought it would, which is a good thing. It’s pretty crazy looking at these stats and seeing how much more Eminem has sold compared to everybody else haha
Wow, nobody can sell any albums now a days.. When Bun B is getting props for crossing the 100k mark after a month of sales that’s just pathetic!!! I am waiting on that Hunger For More 2- Lloyd Banks!!!!
You have to remember that Bun B is on Rap-a-lot which is an indie situation so 100k for them is like a millie for a major. You are right about sales being way down though. Shit sucks because the people who are making great albums are getting no pub.
did you at least support it faggot? it’s all up to the fans nowadays. you can leave it up to the next man, cause everybody a lazy dwnld’n bitch now. you as an individual have to step up with your earned money and show your true love and support for an artist and pay with your hard earned dollars to hear they shit. or you could just download and see how long it takes before your favorite artists decide to hang em up. you gotta at least cop the album before you can bitch or say shit about shit to do with sales. download and stay at home you fuckin nerds, thats a cool way of life, you’ll earn respect
dude you sound like a bum on the street.
support what?
“Yo can I get a buck or a cota($0.25)?”
you dudes need to get a job and actually do something for somebody.
support it, what a joke.
and then call somebody a faggot cause they didn’t pay your ass.
like I’m gonna pay somebody because they went into the studio and used audio equipment.
nothing but a bunch of bullshit.
EM IS SELLING BECAUSE HE SOLD OUT LIKE A WHITE METRO SEXUAL THAT HE NOW IS…..
LUPE IS THE NEW MAN…EM IS DONE AS FAR AS TRUE HIPHOP
dude, that was by far the dumbest thing I have ever heard…. You obviously know nothing about Eminem and Im gonna go ahead and assume you knw nothing about hip hop.. How did EM sell out?… Now if this was Encore I would have agreed with you… Even Relapse was a sell out but.. Recovery?… That was lyrical Em at his finest… It showed a more mature EM… and he is 39 and still rippin it… I have all respect for Lupe (he the sh*t) but hes not better than Em.
wheres rick ross teflon don at? damn nigga couldnt go gold lol
rick ross is at 405,000 or so
Wake Up! was actually pretty good. I at least hope it’ll pass the 100,000 mark.
DAMN EM DONT STOP SELLING EVEN IN HIS 14TH WEEK.
just shows that quality music has nothing to do with sales, its all about appealing to women and children in the mainstream
and faking numbers, running fake label scans, sending out fake email messages, with fake posts on phony blogs.
the freemason and illuminate is making eminem sell !
Hmmm… jay z can´t even sell as much as him, which means to say you are right on that point !
well, i think he is too overrated because he is white, ask any of his fans about other rappers. they can´t mention any other rapper because they all started listening to rap the day eminem came out.
Okay I’m a big hip hop fan but I will admit I have NEVER EVER listened to any Eminem album, not really cause I don’t like him, I think he’s a very very good rapper, I just really like the subject matter of his rhymes… With that said though anyone who is saying he’s not that good is just retarded.. Em is one of the best mc’s ever… Not the best but at least in the top 10 IMO.. As far as his sales.. If you don’t like him don’t buy the record.. It’s not that hard.. Why come on sites to CRY about how many records he’s selling?? Makes no sense what so ever….
Real talk, the guy can rap, but the bawse has overtaken him!
