Havoc Says Mobb Deep Is On An “Indefinite Hiatus,” Confirms He Blasted Prodigy On Twitter

Havoc previously said that his Twitter account was hacked after he allegedly posted tweets putting his Mobb Deep partner Prodigy on blast, but both later denied that there was any beef in the camp.

Now, Hav has confirmed that those tweets came directly from him and that Mobb Deep is on an indefinite break. “The tweets is crazy,” he told AllHipHop.com. “And I was speaking of a standpoint of being mad, but still being truthful of how I felt – but it was just the wrong thing to do at the time.”

Hav says that Mobb Deep is currently inactive and that the truth will come out regarding what went down between him and Prodigy.

“Right now Mobb Deep is on hiatus, indefinitely…until things get hashed out,” he said. “Eventually, the real story will come out; there’s two sides to every story. Only one has been spoken for.”

Havoc also has a diss record towards Prodigy on the way that will be featured on his upcoming solo album Thirteen.

    1. Not even worth it.. I swear, rap gets more lame by the day. Niggas couldn’t just ride their hall of fame careers into the sunset..

      stuck around to long..

    2. These niggas is too old to be beefin with each other over twitter. Hash it out in person or don’t say nothing at all.

      1. loll and you’re too old to use “IS” instead of “ARE” in that sentence, but such is life!

      2. Still he is right. These guys are fucking legends…they shouldve kept these kind of things for themselves. Dont destroy your past Havoc. Much respect to Mobb Deep

      3. Seriously correcting grammar instead of replying to my original statement. Ooh I made a grammar mistake on a hip-hop site, get over it.

      4. I no yeah, correcting grammar is just riduclous, too many people do it, words are all made up anyway, the word grammar was made up by someone and what it means lol, what does it all mean really, all a load of crap, you understand it, get over the bullshit grammar issues.

    3. How is a diss track aimed at your partner and friend going to hash things out? This is what happens when sales bottom out and the money runs dry.

    4. Both desperate and are trying these out the mind stunts for publicity. Wow, it’s times like this that I wish a time machine was invented so I can go back to the 90’s….

    5. Both of these guys are so horribly overrated. Prodigy is an AVERAGE MC at best. Havoc makes good beats though, I’ll give him that.

      1. Judging by today’s standards these guy are still gold. Havoc is a dope emcee and producer, prodigy does his thing on the mic as well. They not on no Kool G Rap, Masta Ace level but they made classics back in the 90’s. why would you hate on 2 veterans when there are so many newage fags out nowadays that don’t even deserve to hold the emcee title?

      2. Prodigy is one of the worst now, but average in his prime? Fuck outta here. Dude was an absolute beast back then, even Jay thought he was one of the best ever.

      3. although Prodigy is on some bullshit today, his verses on JH, The Infamous, HOE and MM shits on most rappers catalogs. Not to mention his verses on Everyday Gunplay, Killaz Theme feat. Cormega and Streetlife were epic and these were unreleased tracks…check them homie than tell me that P is overrated.

    6. Still got love for Mobb Deep though .. they spoiled us with decades of classic music. Hope they can work it all out though.. for the sake of the legacy.

      1. decades of classic music? nigga are u tripping, i dont even think they have a decade of classic music? cmon son they got like 2 or 3 classic albums at most

      2. Decades? Fuck outta here. 3 classics in The Infamous, Hell On Earth and Murda Muzik, that’s more than most groups or rappers will ever reach.

      3. All a matter of opinion family. From Juvenile Hell which dropped in’92 to that recent Illuminati track by Prodigy which I had on repeat last summer. to the present 2012 music … that’s 2 decades of classic music. Classic to some people ..

      4. Mobb Deep had a great run from 93 with Juvenile Hell (I surprised no one on this site mentioned it), till 2001 when it ended with Infamy…The Infamous back in 95 was classic, Hell on Earth in 96 and Murda Muzik in 99. I have these four albums plus HNIC and they were all fire. Infamy had some dope tracks but it dosen’t vintage Mobb Deep sound and the album was porous. I thought they would make a comeback with amerikaz nightmare but fell off completely with Blood Money…its unfortunate that their legacy will be tarnished over twitter rant…a 40 year old men acting like these the emos of this generation. (90’s babies)…I’m born in 83 so at least I remember then hip hop had more quality/substance and Mobb had 4 quality albums…niggas be sleepin on JH (juvenile hell).

    7. Who are you people to tell Havoc what he should or shouldn’t do? Prodigy was on some homo shit in prison and Havoc called him out on it. Dude writes a book and dry snitches just to sell some copies, and Havoc called him out on it. Don’t matter about their past, their age…What matters is right now. If your boy is on some bullshit, u call him out on it. It’s for the better, not worse. It doesn’t even matter the situation, if you FEEL you need to air some shit out, do it. Point blank

    8. hahaha. rip mobb sleep for real. 2pac already destroyed these bitches back in the day but now it’s official. they don’t give a shit about their fans. got all these old ass hip hop heads crying on here and shit. lmfao!

      1. @ Danny…true true Drop a gem on Em’ is a classic diss in response to hit em’ up…lol. I love that track. But the manner it was released on the Hell on Earth, which happened to be after Pac died which was why where was no Pac response. I love the track but it was a certified bitch move.

      2. How the fuck can you destroy someone by ranting at the end of a song. lol c’mon son. when we ride on our enemies leaked years after pac died.

      3. To me 2Pac has never made a better diss record then “Drop A Gem On ‘Em” so how did he destroy the MOBB?

But back to what matters, what is Havoc doing I mean nigga was always the shadow behide P but COME ON SON… we all see your hate towards P, we might not know whats going on behide the scenes but whatever it is don’t let destroy your legacy.

      4. lol when the hell did pac murder hov. he dropped one line to jay on bomb first and everything he never released. he even went so far as to remove jay’s name from hitem up before it was mixed and released.

      5. @ the third anon…if anything the only thing you said that has some truth to it is Hov (with the Takeover) got at Mobb Deep. Nas and Tupac squashed their beef, matter of fact Nas was supposed to fly out to Las Vegas around the time Pac died to begin recording the One Nation project with Pac, the outlaws and Boot Camp Click. Nas and Pac squashed their beef. Pac said two lines about Hov, in bomb first and in against all odds…and we all know Jay’s career went after 96…Pac is one of the best still, but stop your foolish dickriding…honour Pac correctly and stop your bullshit rhetoric.

      6. dont 4get against all odds.. he had other diss tracks on the bootlegged Makaveli 2,3, tapes.. he had a catalog full

      7. if september 7th 1996 wouldn’t have happened the way it did.. none of these cats would be shining like they are now

    9. “Havoc also has a diss record towards Prodigy on the way that will be featured on his upcoming solo album Thirteen.”

in the video, Havoc didnt mention anything about a diss track

    10. WOW I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SAY THIS, BUT IM STARTING TO BE EMBARESED OF BEIGN A MOBB DEEP FAN… WTF IS THIS HAV? LIKE AFTER 20 YEARS IN THE GAAME 2GETHER YALL GONNA START BEEFIN? I CANT BELIVE THIS SHIT

    11. Havoc – Same Shit Different Day

Verse 2 – Niggas out here dry snitchin’ writin’ books
Lieing out they ass just to sell a book
      On some superhead shit

    12. havoc…. shut the fuck up lol nobody listens to mobb deep for your verses. Prodigys verses + your beats.

      1. agree but Havoc did have a better verse then P in “Get Dealt With”

Prodigy still that dude doe… by far the MC in the group, sorry Hav u mad lol.

      1. FOR SURE P IS ON THE DOWNLOW, HIM N GURU, IVE BEEN KEEPING TRACKS ON IT. P NEEDS A BIG DADDY LIKE BIRDMAN

    13. havoc wat type of shit u on bra…. dats wat happen wen ya boy clean and sober and dont drink no morew lik he used to and den yo right hand man stil be on that bullshit gettin dumb wasted and den feels left out cuz ya p tryna better himself and havoc stil on dat bullshit.. ya should of kept the beef quiet.

    14. turning your back on your homie u_u…Havoc a snake ass nigga

No matter how u feel about ur homie don’t let the world into your problems..snake ass

    15. BITTER DRUNK WASHED-UP MIDGET

HNIC3 WAS AWFUL BUT THE REST OF P’S CATALOG IS FIRE

ONCE ALC AND SID ROAMS GET P’S HEAD RIGHT HE’LL BE BACK

    16. After The Infamous & Hell on Earth the Mobb fell off the map.. they’ve had some dope tracks here and there but they will never come close to those albums

      1. Murda Muzik was solid, HNIC 1 was solid, but Hell on Earth and The Infamous were classic. Murda Muzik was when they started to fall off and its been downhill ever since

      2. HNIC 1 was not all that good. The beats were wack. I never knew what all the fuss was about regarding the first HNIC album. I thought it was mediocre at best. Maybe a 3 mic album, maybe.

      1. Even a white boy has to educate you dumb ass niggaz about what you are saying right now. dumb retarded fuckers no wonder their are so many self haters in the black community with two fuckin coons like you around

    17. There was signs of Mobb Deep falling off when they released Infamy album in 2001, all their releases before that were classic or solid.. Americas Nightmare was half decent but after that they completely lost it. People say Wu fell off, Mobb are the ones…

      1. AmeriKas Nightmare was a good album. That was the last of the Mobb… I have to admit that H.N.I.C. 2 was a good album as well. The clues have been here for decades. Pac told yall in ’96

    18. publicity stunt. both dropped or dropping albums this year. smh what has hiphop come too that even Mobb deep can’t sell shit

    19. This beef is over money and peer pressure. Hav just slandering P’s name because they disgree over business. There’s no proof P did gay stuff, people who buy that are gossiping little bitches. Just because a man says something about another doesn’t mean it’s true

    20. It was so obvious that it was him that I donno how he could have denied it in the first place. I donno if P is gay but I think a lot of rappers are in the closet, they should follow Frank O’s lead

    21. P is gay yall, you really think Havoc would just say some shit like this for fun ?

Havoc and Prodigy are like brothers. This had to be a serious grudge.

    22. I feel bad for them. They started out, it seemed they would have a great career as a duo, and this is how it ends.

    23. 2Pac already ethered these cats’ careers..
and Jay-Z put the nail in the coffin with tha Takeover

      1. yo dumbazz musta 4got hit em up 2, when we ride on our enemies, oh and bomb first.. pac made more than 1 diss track.. know yo shit

      2. Exactly, PAC didn’t do shit to MOBB, you fuck! The MOBB were the only ones brave enough to fire back at PAC after the overrated “Hit Em Up” bullshit. “Drop A Gem On Em” was done with so much more style and even eerily predict PAC’s fate…”clocks tick, your days are numbered in low digits” and “what makes you think you cant get bucked again”

      1. I never liked Jay-Z and never will. Jay-Z was simply a coward and a bitch for showing P dancing in MJ clothing on the big screen. P was a little kid for crying out loud! The Mobb should have fucked up that fuckface when they had the chance.

    24. “The Infamous,” “Hell on Earth,” and “Murda Muzik” will always be in my iTunes and CD collection. However, it doesn’t mean that I’ll still think of Mobb Deep as this awesome duo right now and in the future. There’s just too much shit going on with them and between each other. It’s simply just hard to continue to respect them as much as them in early and golden days.

    25. All this shit about Prodigy being a homo…Havoc denied these twitter comments for a while, and now he’s gonna come out and say that he has a diss track lined up and everything? If anything, this dude is the fucking homo. Man up dude, leave the twitter beef to Chris Brown.

    26. You can guarantee Hav was drunk when he made those tweets. Son is a heavy drinker. We seen how he trashed Kanye a few years back when he was bent off the henny. This whole Mobb feud is some weird shit though.

    27. How the fuck do you destroy something 20 years in the making with Tweets? Cmon Duke, yall destroying the Brand with this B.S., if you have business issues then handle it off-line, don’t do the homo twitter shit, leave that shit for the 90’s babies…

That ‘Pretty Thug’ shit had me scratching my head tho, how you do three bullets then make a record talking about ‘Pretty Thug’? Cmon Duke….FOHWTBS

    28. I think HAV mad that P is on his grind and that he maybe using the Brand MOBB to make his solo ventures, books, solo LP’s etc etc. I mean HAV you can write your own books too THUN, don’t destroy something 20 years in over jealousy, man up and get GWAP too…P was in camp and he trying to re-coup, you was in the world and didn’t do shit…SMDH

    29. think about this- its not about P being gay becuase that wouldnt all the sudden make him put out a trash album, something else must be going on like maybe P just changed up so mmuch to the point his people are pissed.

      1. I can see that being an issue, people don’t stay the same forever, I can assure you 15 years ago P would not have made a record titled ‘Pretty Thug’…These type of things could be rubbin HAV the wrong way, hanging out with an X CO after you just did three bullets, etc.etc…Just sad to see the MOBB Legacy end this way, half these clowns out now will not be makin records 20 years from now…What they’ve accomplished is legendary…

      2. it is sad but especially after P showed so much promise with the content on h.n.i.c. 2- he seemed so passionate- i dont beleive it was meant to be a 1 album illuminati theme like he said it was. sad too cause the mobb is so much more than a brand or a means to an end financially. the mobb is a social and cultural expression that is priceless.

    30. Damn Mobb Deep, all you young bucks dont realize how great the infamous, hell on earth, and murda muzik were. I hope this isnt a publicity stunt.

      1. Are u an idiot??? He just fuckin said he was the one tweeting that his homeboy Prodigy was being fucked in jail… what publicity is that???

    31. i remember on that “little known hip hop facts and rumors” thread someone said that P and Hav first met when one of them was about to/trying to rob the other

      lol 😀

    32. All I know is that Prodigy hasn’t been dope since Murda Muzik. Since then he’s fuckin wack. His no rhyming bars is week as fuck. Havoc been gettin better at production an spittin.

      1. “Havoc been gettin better at production and spittin.” Huh? I don’t think so homie but you have a right to your opinion, even if it is a nonsensical one. I always thought Hav’s rhyming was almost just as good as Prodigy’s through the 90’s. Hav’s verse on “The Promise” with Foxy was dope and his verse on “Know Da Game” from the Frankie Cutlass joint was also dope (also the same verse from “The Bridge 94” joint). As far as beats go, Havoc seems to have forgotten how to create nice beats.

    33. From Prodigy’s book “My Infamous Life” it was evident that when P was locked down that Havoc wasn’t his man, and on the “Bumby Knuckles EP” he say’s something along the lines of ….
“A white man showed me more love than my so-called-Niggas”.

For whatever reason, Havoc has been acting weird towards P for a minute.

      1. @Royce, Yea he said Alchemist was the only kat to really hold him down and make frequent visits.

@Anonymous, lol my fault I meant “Bumpy Johnson” but at ease with the slander-talk, it aint that serious and this IS the internet, so don’t let it put a battery in your back.

    34. I don’t think Prodigy is really gay. I think Havoc got mad because he finally read the book. He even mentions the book on his recent song. If you read it, it exposes a lot of the true character of Havoc…Like Havoc trying to scheme on P when they first met to not visiting him in jail. Havoc is just mad he got exposed so he’s resorting to calling Prodigy gay.

    35. There are two kind of people, you have those who live by codes and you have those who write books to expose in their own benefit..
P has be running for P for some time now.
Havoc has always been the realest, fuck it his beats are crazy on point , hes been a better spitter than P the last few years.
That book fucked it all up Iguess

    36. What the hell? Is this really happening? I haven’t copped any music from these two in a while, can’t believe they are about to beef with each other. Shit is straight up weird to me

    37. You guys are acting like P hasn’t been putting Mobb Deep in hot water forever. Every Mobb Deep beat came on behalf of Prodigy opening his mouth or saying something that riled someone else up. Every time. Havoc is a producer, so in order to make his money he needs to have good relationships with artists in order to sell beats to them and Prodigy has been messing that up for years. Prodigy was the one who went to jail, not Havoc. Prodigy was the one who ratted on mad heads in his book, not Havoc. Even if Havoc is “just mad” he has a right to be.

    38. You know what ? I’m actually happy this beef is happening. Mobb Deep fell off hard, especially Prodigy, their EP was trash and HNIC 3 was even worse. Havoc is still good on production, Welcome 2 Hell beat was crazy and his beats on Murder By Numbers are good, but Prodigy fell off hard.

      1. I know what you mean. I sorta feel the same way. We ain’t stupid fans you know. We can tell when the quality is lacking and in Mobb’s case there hasn’t been much quality in they music since some of the joints on the “Murda Musik” album.

    39. he said nothing about having a diss track on his upcoming albulm though. muthaphuckas be exagerating

    40. Damn shame, I grew up on the Mobb, Wu, Nas, etc, this is a sad time. On the other hand, Mobb Deep haven’t made that really ill shit in forever. Havoc’s new single is clearly dising Prodigy, be interesting to see if Prodigy goes back at him

    41. fuck these 2 faggots. dudes are 45 years old and still claiming to be hustlers and killaz. get a life!!!! fuckin studio gangster

    42. As it is revealed once again, the rappers with the hardest content are usually the ones with the most bitch tendencies in real life.

    43. From what I’ve seen over the years dissing Prodigy is the best career move a rapper can make. Case and point Pac, Nas, Jay z, Game.

I also can’t think of a rapper from Queens that never had beef, no not even Run DMC.

      1. Tupac was a multi platinum rapper, famous movie star and worldwide mob figure before he even dissed Mobb Deep (oh yeah he never said prodigy nor havoc’s name)……..lol

WOW!! Niggaz are too dumb to read these days. Go to school fuckboy

    45. This shit is a tragedy because these niggas were known for firmly holding down hip hop strong with reality. Maybe this is as real as it gets, its not a good look for QB.

      1. Hip hop these days dont mean shit. The value of the underground market has saturated with no help from ‘leakers’, but….thats not to say hip hop cant make a comeback financial wise. We just need to eradicate, and i mean eradicate this bullshit euro pop strangling our airwaves.

      2. Prodigy wasn’t about no reality, he was about surrounding himself with real street dudes like Black and lil bro Havoc.

    46. so wait a sec…. if hav did post those tweets and he was airing his real thoughts that must mean p been dropping that soap on purpose damn these r some dark times for hip hop especially for ny at the mo nas is backing up nikki minaj , jay making pop music ,papoose has lost nearly all his hype , wu bout to fall out big over the ODB movie and now we find out prodigy is gay damn R.I.P hip hop i knew her well

      1. Yeah no doubt, not a good look for NY on a whole, after all these years, P turn out to be a FOSSY? Shit Man. Those cats made music that will make you body somebody.

    47. why do ppl care so much about what these dudes do in thy’re personal lives.. i dont support that ish but at the end of the day its music… and none of these guys do what they rap about and why would they? they taking the legal way out and have somthing to live for they wouldnt wanna do any of the things they rappin bout… are they fake?? no are they smart? yes

    48. p a chump now any ways ever since he came home he went from going against the powers that be to getting washed up completely..
