1017 Records artist Ralo was arrested in 2018 after federal agents accused him of trafficking over $2 million in marijuana. The Atlanta native has been in DeKalb County Jail awaiting trial ever since and finally saw his day in court two months ago. According to an Instagram post shared on Wednesday night (June 1), Ralo has just been sentenced to eight years in federal prison.
But there’s a silver lining. He’s been beyond bars for so long, the judge granted him some time served. As explained in the caption, “The Judge sentenced Ralo to 8 years in Federal Prison, he was given over 4 years credit time served. The BOP has also credited him 1 & 1/2 year for good time.
“He was recommended 1 year ankle monitor after the halfway house approve his home address; which will bring him home to us late next year, but our goal is for him to complete his GED or RDAP Drug program so we can get another year off his sentence. That will bring him home to us in less than a year. We need prayer.”
In April 2018, an affidavit was filed to the U.S. District Court alleging Ralo was the leader of a criminal street gang called “Famerica” who federal agents claimed was responsible for smuggling a little less than $2 million worth of marijuana from California to Georgia. The “Famgoon” — as federal documents said the gang called themselves — made at least two known cross-country run using charters flights.
Ralo has attempted to remain positive while behind bars. Last October, he provided an update for fans and was optimistic about the future.
“My judge scheduled my entire case to be over December,” he wrote on Instagram. “My lawyers asking for time served. I need letters an some good people that’s willing to come testify that they will help me stay on the right path while I’m on the 3 years probation.
“I also agreed to talk to the youth. Please tag good people that would do this an go to famericanews.com scroll down an click the link (Write Ralo Judge) #FreeRalo.”
While Ralo didn’t get exactly what he’d hoped for, the Instagram update seems to suggest better days are ahead.
He’ll be back in less than 6 months after release. He’s a 1017 artist. They’re cursed and doomed to go to keep going back to prison based on statistics.
If your CEO is a guy that makes music for crack heads, what do you expect?
Did your Mom tell you to say that go stand in the corner
The corner is already reserve for your mom when she’s trying to make me some money.
Gucci only signs artists that walk in smelling like gun smoke and booty crack.
GUCCI only signs REAL ONE’S from the STREETZ!!!!!!!!!
This is your periodic reminder that you NEVER hear of a conscious MC getting locked up these days…
Judge helped him out. Hopefully he gets home and can realize that the streets ain’t for artists. Let alone anyone.
Nah, social media ain’t for Ralo. He still a PAC-MAN- best believe his plug waiting on him with new ways to get the packs in, it’ll be business as usual.
I feel you bro, but why slide packs when you already making clean money?
Don’t say that bruh, they will insult you and call you “white”
Wish the brotha the best for he and his family. I figured he would get time served, and there a few things you can do to reduce your sentence. Yet for the most part when you catch Fed time you do 90% of that time.
no blame on his robot
