256 thoughts on “Grammy Nominees Revealed; Frank Ocean, Drake & 2 Chainz Among Those Nominated

      1. If Nas doesn’t win, or at least Lupe…and Ross or Chainz wins, it’s clearly about popularity and not about the music whatsoever. And Drake’s album should be in a new HIP-POP/R&Bish category lol, not Rap…

And the Grammy’s should change it from “Rap” to “Hip-Hop” anyway…

    1. Hopefully nas wins at least one award, its about time he gets some recognition from the Grammys. He should win best rap album but they will probably give it to Drake or the Roots. I think he has a better chance of winning best rap/sung collaboration with Cherry Wine.

    2. We all know the Grammy awards do a terrible job representing rap music. Its sad. I love this music and a notable award show doesn’t even respect the genre. 2Chainz? Seriously? I don’t care who you are, we all know his album was garbage. Big KRIT didn’t even get a nomination. It seems to be more of a popularity contest with these people. I remember seeing the the Carter 4 nominated last year. This has to stop. The other nominees for best rap album are repeatable but having 2 Chainz in there disqualifies everything to me. With mixtapes being so big today, I believe notable mix tapes should start being placed into the best rap album category

    3. It’s bad enough that they don’t actually have an award presentation for the “best rap album” but by having 2 Chainz and his shitty album included in that list makes it ten times worse.

    4. Rick Ross and 2 Cchainz get my vote. fuck NAS and The Roots. doze niggaz aint gagnstas. dey would get killed in da street. i would kill dem weak ass niggaz. swag

    5. Nas deserves to win everything hes nominated for, but he prob wont win anything…The grammys always does hiphop dirty..Unlike the other categories, they usually go by visibility. Whoever is on tv/radio the most wins… I think its cause the people judging this shit know nothing about hiphop

      1. i think he’ll win something cause his album kinda appeals to grammy crowd more than most others. life is good, take care and watch the throne.

    6. uptil I saw the paycheck 4 $7666, I accept …that…my friend woz like realey taking home money in there spare time from there pretty old laptop.. there friend brother haz done this 4 only about seven months and resantly repaid the mortgage on their cottage and bourt a top of the range Citron DS.
      we looked here..WWW.youtube.qr.net/jO4I/watch?v=bj0HlZWjcAQ

      1. I think because it had to do with the last awards he was on. He was cocky and arrogant during his speeches and someone high up noticed…so I guess they were like. BUCK IT, BUCK dis white dude, he history, he gone, don’t giv’m shit!

    7. damn the Roots are f’n due to win a Grammy for best rap album (they’ve one best song in the past). If not the Roots, then I hope Nas. It’ll probably end up going by album sales, so Drake will win it. Not sure how 2 Chains was even put on that list.

    8. No nominations for Nicki Minaj? YESSSSSS!! For once, the Grammys did the whole hip-hop/music community a favor by not nominating her and her trash album. Yet the Grammys continues fucking up (seriously? Rick Ross and 2 Chainz?).

    9. THE GAY AGENDA CONTINUES TO FORCE MUSIC FROM FAGGOTS INTO THE MAINSTREAM AND NOW THEY GOT THE HEAD FAGGOT IN CHARGE UP FOR SIX NOMINATIONS?! FRANK FAGGOT ASS OCEAN BETTER NOT WIN ONE GRAMMY OR WE’RE GONNA HAVE A REALLY SCARY FUTURE WHERE HOMOS RULE THE COUNTRY! WAKE THE FUCK UP PEOPLE, AND PRAY TO GOD THAT FRANK OCEAN LOSES EVERY GRAMMY HE’S NOMINATED FOR! STRAIGHT NIGGA SIGNING OUT!

      1. So….. homos will rule the country if Frank Ocean wins a Grammy? Wow…there is a lot riding on the Grammys this year

    10. I understand many don’t like what Rick Ross stands for personality wise but why continue to act like he didn’t make a good album with GFID. It was a good album. No doubt. 2 Chainz is the only disgrace on the list. There are several others who deserved to be there but he was the only one that didn’t deserve to be there in the first place

      1. Co-sign. If people can get pass his history they will admit is a good album. He is an entertainer. Everybody knows he doesn’t have 100 mils in his bank account and all that stuff he talks about but GFID is like a movie.

When Denzel makes ganster movies does everyone on his nuts because he is not portraying a real gansta in is private life??? Who gives a fuck! Denzel is an actor. Rick Ross is an music entertainer. They are both performers and entertainers selling you the same product…entertainment!

Only people with average IQ would get this. So fuck all you future haters replying to my shit.

      2. I actually agree. Since Ross lied about his CO job when he was a teenager people have a hard time letting go, which I get. But I think people hate on him because he is always boasting a lavish life. Most people cannot relate because let’s face it…we are broke!

      3. I agree…but how many Gangsta & Drama movies has Denzel made with the same repetitive story and theme. He still a good actor and people DON’T hate on him. I’m just commenting on one album alone GFID is the shit. If you could relate to the life style he is “portraying” on GFID, they you would say the album is good. Since we are broke (like 2nd Anonymous dude above commented)…we HAVE to hate him.

      4. The difference between Denzel and Ross? Denzel is more diverse and multi-dimensional, while Ross is still stuck in one bubble.

    11. interesting, i could see nas gettin some wins-he and throne have a lot of tracks that would appeal to grammys. rap album is life is good, throne or take care

    12. NAS better fuckin win all of the grammys nominations, he deserves it the most! hes the only person 21 years deep into the game still droppng lyrical fire and none of that materialistic bullshit!

    13. The Grammys made a mistake. They should’ve put Take Care in either Best R&B Album or Best Urban Contemporary Album instead of Best Rap Album.

      1. Like him or not Drake made a great album. I didn’t give it a listen until October of this year and decided to buy it. Good music is good music whether you like an artist or not. I find Nas to be crazy boring but after listening to Life is Good I was impressed. No need to hate on good music

      2. That’s your opinion. Me personally, I don’t think Drake’s album is that good. Not my type of music. I’m not hating, I’m just stating my opinion and I think Take Care is overhyped and overrated.

      3. I respect that. Not liking the music is your opinion. Its the ppl that hate on artist like Drake, Rick Ross, or Wiz because they don’t like them personally that I dont get. Lets judge the music, not the person

      4. He’s an ok rapper, but he’s not THAT good. His skills are average, so he doesn’t “rap better than 75% of tue rappers nowadays.”

      5. I been on this subject since Drake Album came out. Dude actually had some good music on his Album. But he made more of an RandB Album then a rap/hip hop Album.

When i first heard drake i heard him rhyming in his verses and singing on his choruses. I thought that was some fly shit. He was nice spitting and ok singing.(well whispering into the mic actually) But now he just seems to put out nothing but RandB songs and he spit harder shit on other people shit then his own. In the end when he rhymes about hard shit its hard to take him serious. Also i don’t think no man is as over sensitive as he is in his music.

I just think Drake needs to stay in his lane. Dude is all over the place and he claim to be that nigga spitting that soft bullshit. Then he spit some shake your ass pop that pussy with French Montana. He got skills no denying but he comes off real lame. But lame is in now so its cool.

      1. Nas already has Grammy awards and Drake got robbed for new artist of the year last time, so he deserves something!!

      2. Nas did not win a Grammy. I don’t know what you’re talking about. And Drake didn’t deserve BNA (though i believe Mumford & Sons should’ve won that one).

      3. There’s many rappers who.deserve a Grammy and Drake isn’t one of them. His shit is more worthy of BET/MTV/AMA Awards, but not a Grammy.

    14. Def Jam winning. 36 nominations. Beat that, YMCMB. Despite a few shitty artists, Def Jam is still the best label.

      1. Nas is alright, but how can you say 2chainz is better. 2chainz is just another handicapped in the face, retarded shitty rapper. If you say otherwise, FUCK YOU

    15. The Fun. album was dope…

Lupe wins Rap Album of the Year. ‘Niggas’ cleans up with Rap Song and performance of the year.

    16. “The difference between Denzel and Ross? Denzel is more diverse and multi-dimensional, while Ross is still stuck in one bubble.”

      …nigga wut???

Denzel multi-dimentional…were u just born. Just follow his career. Is he known for horror, comedy, animation, musical, romance or the rest of the movie genres??? NO HE IS NOT! He is mostly known for at most 2 different movie genres. And that’s over a 20 year span. Ross has been in the game for less than 7 years. Let the nigga Ross grow. I’ll tell you that 3 more albums like this he will be tire of rapping about the same shit and will evolve. Stop hatin’ GFID is da shit! Cinematic movie just like GKMC.

      1. I regret to say it but based on music alone and not his private life…GFID is good. Believe me this goes against my nature, I mean look at my name (Str8-H8).

Not hatin on Zel either…he da shit! So wat if he only plays gansta and drama movies. He good!

      2. True dat! I think if Rick Ross would be a real gangsta in real life it would validate his music and people would like him. Just saying.

      3. You have to be the biggest, most retarded Rick Ross stan. Rick Ross sucks and so does GFID. That shit ain’t no movie, it’s a shitty, generic rap album.

      4. I don’t personally know Rick Ross so I can’t say he sucks. GFID has some pretty good tracks and I’m not a fan either. I did like his 1st album and his last. The rest in between they sucked!

    17. No T-Minus for producer of the year………
No section 80 or GKMC for rap album/album of the year..
      Undun isn’t in AOTY……………

    18. LOL at Nas fans being on denial. Face it, y’all, this nigga won’t get shit, the Grammy’s will go to either Drake or Rick Ross.

      1. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? Neither Drake or Ross will win it. Nas will win that one.

      2. Hey, retard. This isn’t the VMAs or the BET Awards where you get to vote. This is the GRAMMYS. They give awards based on talent, not popularity (though they have given awards to people based on the latter and many great artists never got nominated for/win Grammys).

      3. Maybe you didn’t notice the last thing I said where I said,

“though they have given awards to people based on the latter and many great artists never got nominated for/win Grammys”

Meaning the Grammys made mistakes and giving Lil Wayne 4 Grammys was one of those mistakes.

    19. RESPECT to the Roots, but FOR ME, this is where it stops. If these “Grammy” nominations DO NOT speak to the state of Hip Hop………boy……I don’t know what does……besides that list of fuckery Complex mag just put out a bit ago…….

    20. “Frank Ocean leads all 55th Annual Grammy Awards nominees with 6 nominations”

He’s barely win one. Only reason he was nominated is because he said it was gay, since the Grammys love some controversy.

      1. @Broke Ass Nigga From Newark…u r so right my nigga! and someone above just said:

“- Funny how Frank Ocean 6 nomination, yet neglected in every R&B category”

Which I came to the conclusion that the Grammys are gay! That shit is fixed!

      2. You da ho nigga. U know u sucked enoff dicks to get dat Grammy u old piece of shit. Cannibus murder yo ass in 2nd round knockout! Now u trying to come back with an album wit yo rinkled ass. U won’t sell…biotch!

    21. – Funny how Frank Ocean 6 nomination, yet neglected in every R&B category
      – best R&B Album: R. Kelly or Anthony Hamilton. Only.
      – for Jay-Z & Kanye, one Grammy guaranteed (not necessarily together)
      – Nas should won after all these years, surprising to see the love for Daughters
      – Take Care had a few great track, yet a weak (HYFR) gets nominated
      – 2 Chainz Nominated to Grammy = JOKE
      – strongest category is arguably Best Rap Album
      – speaking of that, where is Common’s The Dreamer/The Believer?
      – a lot of traditional category is weak in this year
      – Jeff Bhasker did it again, he should because of fun.

    22. Nas & K Rinino’s first album are the best 2 albums of the yr. How the fuck are you gonna put 2 Chainz Drake Lupe Fiasco & Rick Ross on that list GFTO grammies are shit now fuck them

Drake will win albums of the yr even though his faggot azz is more r&b pop nobody in there right mind calls him a rapper

      1. I agree with your Drake comment. I just don’t get why people don’t see through him and figure out that he making himself something he is not (a rapper or thug), and then turn around and sing. I’m not hating but I know dat most of his fans are females and white.

      2. Well, the thing about Drake is that he came from Degrassi. He’s an actor, and acted all the way through his rapping (cough…singing) career. This is why he can rap, sing, thug at the same damn time. Don’t u see that? C’mon! Plus he Jewish which means he is entitled to EVERYTHING!

      3. “85% to 90% of Drake’s fans are 13 to 17 yr old girls…”

Most of them that listen to Drake also listen to Justin Bieber and vice-versa.

      4. OK plz let’s close this Drake chapter here. My nigga @Ny-Harlem made a comment down below and said it best about Drake. This is his quote:

“…But now he just seems to put out nothing but RandB songs and he spit harder shit on other people shit then his own.

But lame is in now so its cool.”

      1. I know. The Grammy’s should rename to “Come out of the closet” Awards and change that trophee to a dick coming out of the closet.

      2. Eff how you feel about Mr. Ocean’s personal life, he’s on the grind and it’s about time that people have noticed his artistic ability.

Don’t be mad that you’re on the garage level, instead of in a penthouse.

      3. Listen here “GAY Kid 2 Fly”. No one here is questioning Mrs. Ocean personal life. The comment was that his strategy to come out before the Grammy’s had something to do with all his nominations (which by the way was not even nominated in any of the R&B categories). This is questionable. AND MY COMMENT was directed to the GRAMMY’s.

      4. Listen here ‘GAY Kid 2 Fly’.

      5. Listen here ‘GAY Kid 2 Fly’.

So I’m sure Mrs. Ocean will thank u with his dick on ur mouth.

      6. Helloooooooo…like why y’all hating on meeeeah? Me and my boyfriend Jay Kid are gonna fly to my penthouse after the Grammy’s and use those trophees as dildos……haterrrrrrrrrrrrrsssssssssssssssss!!!

    23. How the fuck does 2chainz get a grammy nomination? I know this award is a joke, but I’ve never heard a good verse from him. Am I crazy??? WTF is wrong with people these days

      1. he’s better than you think cause hes tongue in cheek- but most people don’t know that so still not reassuring

      1. What’s worse is that A$ap Rocky will be nominated next year… Sadly Aesop Rock will never get recognized simply because he doesn’t sell enough.

    24. so you’re telling me ross has one of the best rap albums of the year? GET THE FUCK OUTA HERE THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT

    25. Rap album of the year is rediculous!!!! I cant fuckin beleive it . Where the fuck is kendrick lamar’s gkmc album???? r u serious? the roots..who the fuck listens to the roots?? 2 chainz..a fucking joke and rick ross..horrible album but for what hes accomplished, its debatable. gkmc was the best album of the year. i guess thats why its labled as “rap” album of the year. they obviously dont know shit about hip hop! not even a nomination? r u fucking kidding me?? nas is my only hope for that one

      1. You child.

Undun is definitely one of the best rap albums of the year. The roots deserves this nomination. Just because you nor your peers haven’t heard it, it shouldn’t be on the list? Juvenile. Listen to it before you judge it.

    26. Nas deserves to win one of the nominations but will lose because the Grammys will only care about Drake and Wayne its a joke.

    27. Last year Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy didn’t get nominated for Best Album. Hip-Hop stop caring about the Grammys because they don’t care about you.

      1. There is no worldly excuse to why 2 Chainz is nominated. This is most ignorant nomination for Hip Hop. It’s actually disrespectful to the culture. Best Rap Album? FOH

    28. I really hope Nas finally gets the grammy he deserves, Life Is Good is honestly head & shoulders above he competition in the all those respective catagories, hopefully the judges aren’t a bunch of dickriders and acknowledge true talent.

      1. As much as l want Nas to win for a good album, the dickriders are going to give it to Drake and The Throne because of radio spins. I would be surprise if Daughters beats Niggas in Paris. I just don’t see how Nas can go against big machines like Drake and Jay Z, Kanye. And you know Drake gets the radio love, it’s going to be tough for Nas.

    29. Give NaS a fucking Grammy please man!! The man deserves it. Fuck Drake and Take Care but they will proly get that one..

    30. Hey y’all wussup. This is Aubrey Drake Graham AKA the Jewish Sensation AKA Drizzy AKA Drake. I just wanna y’all to know that my man Frank inspired me to be true to myself. This is way here on HHDX I would like to announce that…I’M COMING OUT! YESSS…YOU HEARD IT HERE FIRST….I’M A FLAMING HOMOSEXUAL! So if you hate on Frank Ocean u hating on me too. Holla @ Russell Simmons…when r u coming out Russell? Anyway, Peace!

      1. Just because I divorced a fine ass exotic woman and I’m always single and I’m effeminate and I hate the smell of pussy (right the animal) doesn’t mean that I’m gay…shiiish!

    31. “Most of them that listen to Drake also listen to Justin Bieber and vice-versa”

Do you have pie charts to back this up?

    32. “Yet he’s got an Oscar”

For a movie that wasn’t even nominated for Best Picture. It’s ok for you to admit your brain hasn’t fully developed enough for these kind of debates.

      1. lol just cause it wasn’t nominated for best picture doesn’t make that irrelevant. what faggot reasoning.

    33. Did y’all see my last post…damn…a nigga don’t gets respect when he trying to come out and shit. I SAID I’M COMING OUT!

      1. Sorry Tunechi but I can help it. I feel so liberated. Is this what Liberace felt like? Anyway I’m free Tunechi I’m free!

      2. Oh yeah…oh yeah…ohh yea…well….I’m not gonna piggy back carry you to your bed and tuck you in at night any more. Nicki is gonna do that shit from now on.

      3. Guys guys guys…u gays are like my besties like why can’t we all get along and play house and share undies and shit…like c’mon…like u know…like…we are Young Money.

      4. That’s ok, Dwayne. I’ll just look in this C-section, it looks like there’s enough dudes obsessing over young money on here. The amount of time they spend talkin about my money–shit! They’re already on my dick, they might as well get paid.

        HOMO YOLO

    34. why not-
      kendrick
      jay rock
      schoolboy
      ab soul
      tech n9ne
      ace hood
      big krit
      hopsin
      dizzy wright
      mayday
      rittz
      \/\/\/
      wtf?!?!?!

      1. Any list including Hopsin and Tech n9ne and not mention the woeful Ace Hood automatically gets the delete button.

    35. Some of these comments show how ignorant and closed-minded some of you are. You call something trash because it’s popular AFTER admitting not even listening to it. I understand everyone has their own taste but don’t call something garbage because you’re not a fan of it. This is a pretty good list overall.

      1. i have listened to 2Lame many times given him a chance and he has been ass water every fucking time. so with that being said he in no way deserves a nod or to be in the game for that matter

    36. remember last yr when the grammys 100% snubbed DISTANT RELATIVES? haha, SMH.

Nas better collect some awards, his album is far beyond others in its categories lyrically, and production is classic throwback.

they need to redeem themselves after last years distant relatives snub

    37. best rap album is lupe fiasco no doubt…..you already know this…..u dont gotta give em grammy to let everybody know

      1. LUPE FIASCO defeating KANYE WEST(CRUEL SUMMER)

2.) was the first “REAL HIP HOP MC” to do 6 digit album sales

        3.)HE “BOUNCED BACK from LASERS”

        4.)HE MADE LUPend

        5.)HE PUT CHIEF KEEF incheck..*smile

    38. Fuck the Grammy’s, they’ve disrespected so many legends by not even nominating them for an award over the years. It’s all based off of mainstream success which is bs, it should be based off of critical acclaim. 2chainz & Rick Ross dnt deserve Grammy nods period. The bias towards heavy mainstream is artist is ridiculous…It should be called “Most Popular Music Awards” because music w/actual substance wnt be considered unlesss they get major radio play or have a reputation like Nas. How can any1 say this shit is fair?

      1. the bias is ridiculous? NEGRO THE ROOTS GOT FUCKING NOMINATED. and YMCMB won nothing last year. not a single damn thing.

but you whining ass niggas will point to the smallest thing and cry foul all over again. I’m not sayin the Grammys are perfect but they do some(1 or 2) things right each year, but moreso to say they’re biased towards mainstream success IS what’s ridiculous, considering three years ago some random black broad won over Drake & Justin Bieber for best new artist. oh nobody remembers that shit right. always with the negative

    39. “just cause it wasn’t nominated for best picture doesn’t make that irrelevant”

But it says alot about how the academy thinks. Nominate the two stars, yet snub the movie and the director. Think for once in your life, man.

    40. Nas has to win this…the nigga hasn’t won anything, and has deserved to several times in the past. But Common was snubbed, fuck the academy forreal for not nominating The Dreamer The Believer even once.

    41. The grammy don’t make sense sometimes. So Frank Ocean is up for the Record of the Year, but not for the Best R and B record? How does that make sense when “Thinking about you” is a R and B record? So don’t be surprised if Nas doesn’t win anything and everything goes to Drake and The Throne. The only think they did right was not give Nicki Minaj a damn thing with her selling out. But Nas deserves to win all categories because it was a good album, creative and lyric wise. And being a pure hip hop album.

    42. How will the Grammys explain to us how a song like “Daughters” loses in it’s categories? It was ignorant enough? It didn’t brag or talk about cars and bitches? didn’t have 2 or 4 features on a song?

    43. Nas is the King of rap,but he in a tight position with YMCMB and ROCK NATION around him!!…Jay prolly walikng away with something n that Drake!…Though Esco deserves this,it gon be a disappointing night again!….FUCK Grammy’s, FUCK Mtv,…FUCK BET even….Life is good.

    44. If 2 Chainz wins best rap album then the Grammys is filled with Incompetent fucks who don’t know music and Hip Hop is in real trouble, that album lacked substance for real… Drake might just take it EVERYBODY LOVES DRAKE… Which is sad

    48. The grammys are a joke. how in the world is God Forgives, i Don’t or Based on a TRu better than The dreamer, The believer? where, how? can they please explain that to me.

I guess based on this, take care will win the Grammy ahead of Life Is good, Undun and Food & liquor. In a fair world, 1 of those 3 should win the Grammy.

      1. If the Grammys were about artistic ability and originality alone, Undun would win. However, its a mix of both critical acclaim and mainstream appeal (within the artist’s respective genre). Therefore, Drake’s the favorite because Take Care is the highest selling of these albums while having a fair amount of critical success as well.

Personally, I would love if Nas won it, but it is what it is. 2Chainz has no grounds for being on this list of nominations, however.

    49. Since we Putin erethang with acronyms i think P.L -UTF, F.S – PQPM and C.M-JJH shoulda been on that nomination list shiiiiiit why Can’t just say Kendrick, Lupe, Saigon huh?? yo’ll making me M.A.D with all this B.U.L.L.S.H.I.T.

    50. I’d be disappointed if that corny group “fun.” wins more than one award, because I think that “We are Young” song is just some uninspired, unoriginal noise. Would be nice to see Frank Ocean take Record of the Year, maybe even Album of the Year.

Still waiting for the day where an entirely hip-hop album is nominated and WINS Album of the Year, but that’s probably a pipe dream since Eminem couldn’t win it back with “The Marshal Mathers Lp” and he was against zero competition.

      Oh well.

      1. That’s an ugly word to use man. I’m a married straight guy, but we need more tolerance in the world, there is no need to spew hatred.
        Grow up.

      2. “tolerance” is a retarded term. It means that you u tolerate someone, like ur on the verge of snapping and beating their ass, u sound like a suburban white hoe “there needs to be more tolerance”..haha fuck outta here, ya queef stain

    51. Grammy’s SHOULD be for music that has garnished CRITICAL ACCLAIM. But there is some good pop music out there so it has its place in there too.
My 31 yr old brother in law loves 2 Chains because he’s “funny”

Life is Good is an amazing album. Nas is probably my favorite and I have to say this is his most complete album.
I think he may have solidified himself as the best ever with this project.
He has some good competition, but if anything, he should get a couple on the strength of his body of work. He has such a diverse catalog and his music has SUBSTANCE.
Shoot, Distant Relatives is an all-time classic that really should have- and in another time would have- changed the entire music game.
Just saw Nas and Lauryn Hill last month and his live show is light years ahead of where it was too. He has grown as a man and artist; you can really hear it in his music.
He is the voice of the people, especially thinking brothers like myself.
Peace to everyone and all you youngins, please do something with your life…we need you!!

      1. Nas is amazing, no doubt….but Distant Relatives is not an album that could ever “change the entire music game” in any scenario.

If Drake doesn’t win Best Rap Album, it’ll be Nas.

    52. Y’all sound like bitches complaining about the Grammy’s. We all know they are a white awards. They are for rappers that are not accepted, respected or didn’t make it in the black community like 2 Chainz, Drake, etc. So they fill some sort of accomplishment being nominated.

      1. Obviously 2 Chainz is not going to win, and if you noticed, The Roots and Nas are nominated…i think they are “respected and accepted” by the black community.

      2. This younger generation don’t care about or listen to Nas. The Roots got a gig at the Jimmy Fallon show but they don’t make bangers either. So they are not really popular. They don’t get any exposure except at the Grammys which I agree it’s a white awards.

    53. Obviously, with something like this its all subjective, but the fffing voting committee for the Grammys just seems to like weirdos. They always try to shock and this year, they have their poster boy. I have not heard FO’s album, so I will not knock it and say he does not deserve to be up there, but common! If he did not make so much noise for being a freaking nasty bisexual, would he even have garnered any nominations? His album did not have any impact, total sales (I know he had a decent first week but..) or content wise so what’s this about? They not only had to injure, but they threw insults in there as well by nominating him for the top two awards.

The entire field is eh, but with Mumford and Sons, Black Keys and possibly Jack White, I think we might be spared and he avoids Album of the Year.

With Taylor Swift needing a whole wing in her house for all the grammys she has won already, he has a very good chance with Record of the year. Again, hope he gets shut out though.

Best rap album, my money goes on 1, the roots, second best chance, Nas. If I am wrong, then aaaargh, Drake gets to win a Grammy!

      1. Man, you really don’t get it, lol.

In case you don’t keep up with shit, Frank Ocean’s album got MASS critical acclaim. The sales were on par for a mainstream rnb album, and Thinkin’ Bout You was a big record. You want the Grammys to say, “That nigga Frank is gay, fuck him”? Content wise, Channel Orange is pretty damn creative, and the album overall is a great listen.

You can argue that Frank did the “I’m Bi” thing as a publicity move, but if you heard a few of the last tracks on his album, you’d realize that he would’ve been forced to address his sexuality after fans heard a track like “Forrest Gump”.

Overall, the guy makes good music, and because of that, he’s nominated.

    54. Hey y’all wussup. This is Aubrey Drake Graham AKA the Jewish Sensation AKA Drizzy AKA Drake. I just wanna y’all to know that my man Frank inspired me to be true to myself. This is why here on HHDX I would like to announce that…I’M COMING OUT!

    55. BEST RAP ALBUM

      DRAKE OR LUPE FIASCO….

      much respect to NAS…however,…in 2012

      DRAKE WON THE CHARTS

      LUPE did THE UNHEARD OF..

      ALL BLACK ALBUM

      NO SONG TITLES

and paved the way for KL to make HISTORY with GK,MC!….TDC_C

    56. LOL the grammys are a joke….Based on a tru story nominated for best rap album right next to artists like the roots??lmao I dont know if ts a bad look for hip hop, the grammys or both
