Reports out of the L.A. Sherriff’s department are confirming that noted graffiti artist Revok has been given a sentence of six months behind bars on the charge of parole violation. His parole was a result of a 2009 arrest for vandalism in Indio, California and subsequent 2010 conviction, he was ordered to pay restitution to victims of the vandalism, which the court claims he has failed to do. Revok, born Jayson Williams, was arrested last Thursday, April 21st, at Los Angeles International Airport just before boarding a flight bound for Ireland.
In an official statement Lieutenant Vince Carter of the Sheriff’s Metro Transit Services Bureau stated, “We take graffiti vandalism very seriously. Criminal graffiti vandals who insist on damaging other people’s property are going to jail and need to pay to fix the damage they caused.”
Revok, a member of the Los Angeles graffiti collective Mad Society Kings, is currently being held on $320,000 bail. On his official website, Revok’s friends have posted a message to his fans and supporters, “Want to thank all of the people who have supported our brother REVOK in these hard times. Please continue to support by blogging, twittering, etc. Don’t let our rights be stolen away from us! TREND #FREEREVOK.”
Revoks art is so dope. Free Revok!
Fuck you pay me Revok.
You didn’t pay back the damages, that’s why your going to jail.
Stay Up.
“Don’t let our rights be stolen away from us!” Are you fucking kidding me? Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time, people!
I enjoy ARTISTIC graffiti as much as anyone else, but if this r-tard was going around spraying it on whatever, without permission, he’s only getting what’s coming to him. Wise up.
