Ghostface Killah, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes & More To Feature On 88rising Album

Ghostface Killah, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes and more are confirmed to feature on the new 88rising album from 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE

The media company, which is a hybrid of a record label, marketing business and video producer, has recruited some of the biggest names in rap for the debut project from the art collective.

The album is titled hella (˃̣̣̥╭╮˂̣̣̥) ✧ ♡ ‧º·˚: and is set to release on February 9.

In addition to legends like Ghostface, Busta and De La Soul, the album will also feature appearances from the likes of Westside Gunn, Conway the Machine, Rick Ross, Offset and Del the Funky Homosapien.

The collective, who are also signed to RCA, first appeared last year when they released “MiNt cHoCoLaTe” with jazz group BADBADNOTGOOD, Westside Gunn and Conway the Machine.

More details about 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE are yet to be revealed.

88rising was founded in 2015 as a label primarily for Asian American Hip Hop artists such as Joji, Rich Brian and Warren Hue.

The company also organizes the annual Head in the Clouds music festival.

The festival was founded in 2018 and was headlined by special guest Anderson. Paak though the event mostly features Asian American artists and those on the label.

The festival is returning to New York in May with all the action coming from Forest Hills Stadium in Queens on May 11 and 12.

Headlining the festival this year is Joji, (G)I-DLE, BIBI and ILLENIUM B2B DABIN.

Other performers announced to appear at Head in the Clouds 2024 include Balming Tiger, SPENCE LEE, Deb Never, Juliet Ivy, Young Posse, Wave to Earth, Wang OK, Awich, eyedress, dhruv, ATARASHII GAKKO!, thuy, Warren Hue and Lyn Lapid.

The event is also partnering with Heart of Dinner, an organization which attempts to address food insecurity, social isolation, and loneliness among Asian American older adults living in under-resourced communities.

The company has also hosted festivals in Jakarta, Manila and China in recent years.

Presale registration for the festival began on February 5 and is live until February 12. The presale begins on February 9 before general sale on February 12.
