The Game Blacks Out Over Unearthed Hit-Boy Beat In New L.A. Leakers Freestyle

The Game has paid a visit to the L.A Leakers studio to drop off a new freestyle, ahead of his upcoming new album Drillmatic: Heart vs. Mind – see it below.

The Compton rapper weaves in and out of a never-heard-before Hit-Boy beat, seemingly never taking a breath as he delivers hard-hitting punchline one after another.

Game name-drops several of his rap contemporaries throughout including Hip Hop dignitaries such as Kanye West, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre and more.

Ain’t no competition, so Kendrick went to Africa/ Ain’t no competition Cole went and got his baskets up/ But I’m here masking up, with the masking tape, fiends knocking on the door, we closed, don’t ask for Ye/ You see the Aftermath chains then don’t ask for Dre/ I’m a legend now, fuck when I pass away,” he raps.

Game’s long-awaited Drillmatic album has suffered several delays, but will finally be released on August 12. Game has been very tight-lipped about the features on his 10th studio LP but fans can expect to hear 30 tracks executive produced by the Grammy-winning Hit-Boy, seven of which feature samples from JAY-Z’s decorated discography.

In a recent interview with HipHopDX, Game explained that he got the blessings of both Nas and Chicago drill icon Lil Durk before settling on the album title.

The Game Checks Akademiks Over Street Rap Comments: 'Catch A Bullet Or Something To Know This For Real'

“Originally, I gave [the title] Drillmatic to Durk because he’s from the Chi and it has the whole drill thing,” he explained. “I text Durk like, ‘Yo, call your next album Drillmatic.’ And he was like, ‘Yo, that’s fire.’ And then two years passed and he didn’t call nothing Drillmatic so I was like, ‘I’ma reel that back in.’

“And then Nas was in the room the day after, on the fourth day, working on music with Hit. I ran the title by him and he blessed it, and so then I ran with it. Because I don’t want to step on no toes, especially not with people I look up to. So yeah, we got Nas’ blessing, we started to run it and then it took on a life of its own and now we’re here.”

    1. He could always freestyle but that’s where it stops after that, he runs out of names to drop after about 15 minutes or so unfortunately.

    2. “Game name-drops several of his rap contemporaries throughout including Hip Hop dignitaries such as Kanye West, J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre and more.”

      Typical Game

    3. I hate how spitting pre written rehearsed lines is called a “freestyle” nowadays. It used to be spitt9ng on the spot, not written or rehearsed. You could always tell who was actually freestyles or not, as the real ones would be rapping about what’s in front of them at the moment. Tupac used to do that. Biggie wasn’t able to. Snoop was actually decent at that in his prime days.

      1. I feel the same way but in these cases to watch him do that for 5 minutes and didn’t skip a beat or miss a line is pretty amazing. More like a live song or something but props to Game

      2. I agree with you Jay, they shouldn’t call it a freestyle, as freestyling, obviously, is off the dome, and is a skill unto itself. That said, I couldn’t watch a 5 minute freestyle from MOST people (there are exceptions.) Freestyle bars rarely get deep, and if they aren’t that good at it, many of the bars are disjointed and/or predictable. I don’t mind things like this, where someone is clearly spitting (a written) over someone else’s hot beat. It just needs a different name. Peace.

    4. Me and 50 uh uh fucked 50 times uh uh as his momma comes uh uh here I cums uh uh his ass is Mercedes Benz S Cl-ass uh uh

    5. Imagine being known as the rapper who basically talks about other people in almost every song throughout his entire career. What an achievement.

      1. Yeah. Imagine how one of his watches is worth more than you’ll make in your entire life. Imagine. LOL

        1. Priscilla Rainey will own that watch by the end of the day lol that’s why he dipped out so quick. To avoid her attorneys showing up to collect their court order money that he owes her. (7.1milllion dollars)

        2. too bad theyre probly after market set diamonds which basically ruins the real value of the watch haha

        3. Pretty sure none of his watches are worth $1 million or more, and EVERY person who isn’t an idiot and work into their senior years will make over $1.5 million throughout their lives, income alone, excluding investments.

    6. Not fan of his outside the music. But as far as albums and bars, the dude is definitely pretty good.

        1. So, if freestyle doesn’t mean off the top anymore, what does it actually mean? Just means… spitting over a beat in person, live? Pre written, pre rehearsed spitting over a beat in person = freestyle? Because you know it’s all rehearsed.

          1. Get gifted…you will know how to do it too…I do it all the time ..don’t be mad at the take… there’s a level of God Mode.. it just sound written ….expect it and respect it…

    7. I’m lloking forward to this album. Game’s really stepped up his writing with the multi syllable and internal multi syllable rhymes. He’s more conscious of the technical side of rapping. Not just rhyming bar 2 with bar 1, bar 3 with bar 2 and bar 4 with bars 3.

      Two bar count:

      ABCB
      ABAB
      ABBA

      Four bar count:

      AB/AB/AA/AB
      AB/BA/CC/CA

      There’s so many ways to structure your 2, 4, 8 and 16s.

    8. Says more names than 69 the rat in court! Smh! Homie doesn’t get tired of saying other rappers name in every single one of his verses? Smh

    9. how do you freestyle but have choreographed hand movements at the time the line is about to drop…it was good but like Nas..it was written.

    10. SAYING NAMES FOR SHOCK VALUE. THIS DUDE HAS BEEN PRETENDING TO HAVE FRIENDS SINCE THE G UNIT DAYS.

    11. Tbh I’m happy ppl are paying attention…but The Game has been butter since beginning…u can criticize the content…but not the form…ON GOD…99.9% OF THOSE QUOTE ON QUOTE HOT NOW HAVE NO QUOTABLES…NOR DO THEY SOUND LIKE HALF THE EFFORT. The cadence now is either melodic and dying to stay in the scheme…or drill ??‍♂️…smh..those are flavors…but This is it’s purest form…because I can promise you if the beat changed up to any of those styles The Game would’ve switched up accordingly…HE IS EASILY THE MOST VERSATILE RAPPER CURRENTLY…Check The Game’s features..(Freddie Gibbs as well)

    12. People here are so toxic about game. Pure hate no real criticism. Not a surprise that he probably suffers from mental issues. ( like those haters who think they become better by bringing others down) . Crazy that these haters spend so much time on someone they hate ,bombing the commentary section with bs. You better focus on something positive or maybe just shut up with your anonymous ass or we should start to talk about your LIFE and how much of hating ass clown you are with the mistakes you make every day. Some hater friends will laugh im sure. BLISS
