G Herbo has shown confidence in his rap skills after announcing he’s the best rapper in the game on social media.

On Thursday (March 16), the Chicago native took to Instagram to claim he’s at the top of rap’s food chain in terms of skill. In his IG Story, Herbo kept things plain and simple, posting a black background and quote.

The Survivor’s Remorse rapper has reason to believe in himself as much as he does, especially after Nicki Minaj hopped on the remix to his “Chiraq” single.

G Herbo was only 17 at the time of his collaboration with Nicki, and the record pushed him to the limelight. The 27-year-old spoke about the track and how important it was to him during an interview with Elliott Wilson on Tidal Check In.

“Definitely shout out to Nicki for that,” G Herbo said. “That was like my first big break, you know what I’m saying, and that just go to tell you how long I’ve been just trying to get on that path of stardom.”

He added: “But man, that’s one of those records that just gave me confidence as an artist. To see if I could actually do it or not, rap toe-to-toe with the best of ’em. Nicki a female MC, but she still like the hardest ever, and she harder than a lot of male MCs. For me, to be able to get on a track with her and hold my own, it just gave me confidence to keep going.”

G Herbo almost missed out on his big break as he revealed to The Breakfast Club in 2016 that he hung up on Nicki the first time she called him for a collab.

“I promise… We were like, ‘Hell no, this ain’t Nicki calling at 3am in studio,'” Herbo said. “Then it just came back around two days later and we realized it was her. She wasn’t playing around. I love Nicki, I can never thank her enough for it.”

Herbo is coming off the release of his double-sided Survivor’s Remorse album, which arrived in October 2022 with features from Jeremih, Offset, Future, Young Thug, Kodak Black, Conway The Machine, Gunna, Benny The Butcher and more.

During a conversation with Eddie Francis on New Music Daily on Apple Music 1, G Herbo explained why he used a release strategy that included two sides of the album. According to the 27-year-old, he was inspired by his desire for fans to sit with the music before getting any new material.

“I want the fans to be able to live with the music for a second,” Herbo said. “I want them to be able to consume the A side and then, Monday, get to [the] B side. When you actually put them together though, it syncs.”
