Future Has Been In The Studio Every Day For The Past 5 Years

In a behind-the-scenes look at Future while he’s on the road with Drake for their “Summer Sixteen” Tour, MTV caught up with the Dirty Sprite 2 rapper during a stop in Dallas.

Future narrates what it means to be the rockstar known as “Future Hendrix,” and why he’s been able to churn out mixtape after album after mixtape consistently.

“I’ve been going to the studio every day for the last five years,” the “Low Life” rapper reveals. “Every day. People like, ‘Why you work so hard?’, ‘Why you always in the studio?’, ‘Why you work more than anybody?’ Because I know I’m going to be worth more than them at the end of the day. I might not be there now, but once my work catch up to my worth, I’m going to be a billionaire.”

The 32-year-old Atlanta rapper, who used to go by the alias “Meathead,” has been part of the iconic Dungeon Family along with Outkast and Goodie Mob since he was a teenager. Once the 2011 hit single “Tony Montana” (featuring Drake) and YC’s Billboard hit “Racks On Racks” smashed the airwaves, Future’s popularity skyrocketed. This was followed by the release of the Freebandz general’s first studio album, Pluto, in 2012.

So far, he’s released a total of 12 mixtapes and four studio albums with no apparent plans of slowing down.

“If you know where you going, it don’t matter who you are, where you come from or how people look at you. Can’t nobody tell you where you’re about to go,” Future affirms.

    1. First, unless he has never been on tour it’s a lie (even if he has a so-called studio on his bus). Second, a billionaire? In Monopoly money?

    2. Being honest Im not a huge fan of Future. I do like SOME of his music, regardless if he`s not a really lyrical rapper. But dude has a great work ethic. Plus his stupid c.unt of a ex tried to stop him seeing his baby (trying to ruin his life) and shit backfired in her face. Keep up the hustle homie.

      1. That turned out to not be true when they went to court it was revealed that he lied.Get ur facts straight before u come dickriding…..

      1. He actually can, but caters to the market in which if it ain’t broke don’t fix the formula that found him success. He used to be down with the Dungeon Family since his cousin is Rico Wade, who used to be head of the Organized Noize production crew. His original rap name was Meathead, and Big Gipp of the Goodie Mobb said in an article that he used to spit lyrics hard like them until he switched his style to where it is now.

    3. Why is this nigga wearing a eskimo coat inside the building on the video. Future is trash. It took a niche to make him famous, not his music.
