Freeway Announces New Album & “Roc Reunion Show”

Former Roc-a-Fella artist, Freeway is preparing for an active October. “I’m doing this thing called ‘Roctober,’” he said to HipHopDX in an exclusive conversation during the Coast 2 Coast Convention in Miami, Florida (September 2).

“The last leg of the Rock The Bells Tour is in October, so we’re doing that,” he continued. “I got a couple of independent shows that I’m doing in October as part of ‘Roctober.’ I’m doing the Coast 2 Coast Tour as part of ‘Roctober.’ We’re hitting 10 cities. It’s gonna be crazy.”

While touring throughout the month, Freeway also revealed that he’ll be promoting a new project, expected on October 29, followed by a “Roc reunion” concert in Philadelphia on October 30. “We’re doing a big Roc reunion show at the TLA [Theatre of the Living Arts],” he stated. Although he did not confirm which artists will perform during the reunion show, he did share a few details on the upcoming project.

“All I’m gonna tell y’all is that I’m doing a project with a producer and it’s just me and him,” he said to DX exclusively. “He’s doing the beats and I’m doing the raps. We dropping it on the 29th [of October]. I’m not telling y’all who it is. It’s not Jake One. I love Jake One. We’ve got plans on doing [Stimulus Package 2]. But this project is the first time I’ve ever worked with this person and I believe it’s the first time he’s ever worked with a rapper. It’s gonna be crazy.”

The Philly-native also confirmed that his collaborative project with Rhymesayers’ Brother Ali is officially underway, stating: “We got four or five records done for that project.”

“I actually went out and stayed at his house and worked with him,” Freeway continued. “He has a studio in the basement so we’d just wake up, go downstairs and get it in.”

Freeway will perform during the 2013 Rock The Bells tour, which kicks off today in Los Angeles, California. For more information on Rock The Bells, visit rockthebells.net
