Former Def Jux Artist C-Rayz Walz Incarcerated For Felony Rape

C-Rayz Walz was once a prominent fixture in New York’s underground Hip Hop scene but hasn’t been as active in the last couple of years.

According to the New York City Department of Correction, he’s been locked up since December 13, 2019 on charges of felony rape. Inmate records show he’s expected at Bronx Criminal Court on April 15, which will likely be postponed due to the coronavirus. His bail was remanded by the judge.

C-Rayz got a shaky start early in life. Born Waleed Shabazz in 1975, the Bronx native’s father was murdered in a hotel room when he was only 2 years old, something that later became the inspiration for the 2003 song “Protect My Family.”

In an interview with MVREMIX that same year, C-Rayz explained how his father’s death impacted him.

“I was always socially dysfunctional, as far as not being able to deal with other kids having fathers,” he said. “I was mad jealous my whole life at cats who had fathers. A lot of elders, older black men helped me deal with it. By the time I was 12, I decided to look at it for what it was. I realized and felt that his spirit and energy was with me. His essence was here and I moved on from that.

“I’m saying, I’m still socially dysfunctional. That is why I over compensate with such great lyrics and great performances. That’s why I wish that a lot of cats would stop rhyming like this is some cool shit to do. This shit is not cool to do. People that rhyme are special people. They are not regular in this society.”

Since his 2001 debut The Prelude, C-Rayz has dropped numerous albums, including 2014’s Feel Me with Sallam Said.

Despite C-Rayz’s incarceration, he appears fairly active on Instagram. In January, he penned a heartbreaking post to his son, writing, “Peace Daddy. Where are You? I Haven’t Seen You since November. You Told Me What Happened, but Where Did You Go? I Need You Daddy. I cannot Live without You. I Need You to Take me to Karate.

“I Need You to Take me to Allah School. I Need You to take Me to the Juice Bar to see Musa. I Need to go to the Polo Mansion with You. I Need You to Patiently Help Me with my Homework. I Need to Play Marvel Dress Up with You. I Need You to Take me to school every Morning and Pick me up everyday.”

          1. His gf is indeed a Latin BECKY. No mis info there. She the reason he in there. If she wasn’t out here being hoe and getting caught with his man’s who also got his ass beat. Free the GOD.

    1. Now I don’t know any details about this. But I have personally known (and worked with) C-Rayz for a long time. When he is in my hometown, we get together. He even has stayed @ my home. And when I was in the Bronx, C-Rayz made sure we connected on his stomping grounds too! And so personally knowing Walz..I truly cannot see, nor fathom him actually doing such a horrible act! He is a very down to earth and humble man. Those that know him know that he would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it! And he has a lot of love and respect for women, children and dudes that do the same…and try to provide for their family. They better really look into all aspects of this allegation before having any sort of verdict! Again, I know nothing of this situation, personally. BUT personally knowing him well. I cannot see brother Walz doing such a thing, ever.

      1. Well ya homie just plead guilty. Evidence was so damning that he couldn’t get around it. People let you see what they want you to see. Don’t be duped. He is NOT your brother and given the opportunity, he would shit on you too. He’s an opportunist and a user, and now a convicted rapist.

      2. Was you there in the court room to know that Walz pleaded guilty to felony rape? When I checked it didn’t state what he pleaded guilty to, so how are you so positive that he did and why would you spread false information like that. Sounds like you been waiting for your moment to try and talk shit on his name whoever you are hiding behind that name and it fits you well SUCKER!!!!

      3. He plead guilty to assault and kidnapping. What the fuck do you know to bring that energy? Another mouth on the inrernet hiding behind another name. Shut up, you don’t know anything either.

      1. Always some disgruntled weirdo who wants to make something about race, especially in situations that have little if nothing at all do with someones color. In this instance I’d suggest you take a look at the FBI statistics for convictions of SA & SA against children. It definitely isn’t blacks.

      1. Another inbred with black penis envy. Outspoken on the internet and a complete cuck in real life.

    2. I have a white micropenis and I’m addicted to interracial cuckold porn.

      1. May God Bless My Lil Brother Wallz.
We are misunderstood and needed better role models when we grew up. We made mistakes and have to deal with them. I PaulyWop RCP am here I. Support for my brother. It was definitely wrong and I don’t condone his actions on the other hand He still needs Us.
Sorry for the actions bought against the young woman and mother
        God Bless

    3. Damn I’ve been following C Rayz since the early 2000’s when he was at the Rocksteady fest in NYC. I had no idea he’s been incarcerated since 2019. This is crazy. I wonder who is handling his social media accounts now.

    4. I cant speak to these allegations. But he has a very dark evil side. I know him well. most don’t see this side.

    6. I can’t speak on the details of his situation bc like everybody here posting, I was not there and certainly don’t know what occurred. I do know that the legal system is abhorrent. A person can be charge with anything & can even be convicted or plead out to charges that do not reflect what actually occurred. I personally know many who’ve plead to bogus charges simply do avoid the possibility of being sentenced to more time than what was offered in a plea.
