Bone Thugs-N-Harmony rapper Flesh-n-Bone has some words of advice for Nelly after seeing the viral video of the St. Louis rapper’s odd performance in Australia.
Ahead of offering his warning, Flesh-n-Bone revealed that he has embarked on a personal sobriety journey, announcing that he has not had a drink in two months and has stayed away from weed and all other substances for six months.
“That’s one of the reasons why I quit doing substances,” he told TMZ, “because they all gateway drugs. All you dopers out there, y’all better be careful, because it’s dangerous; you don’t know what’s in it. But he was out there wigged out, you could tell he was stoned.
“Nelly you to good to be on that type of shit, man,” Flesh added. “It kinda threw you off, I never seen you like that, man. You might wanna take the dose down just a little bit. Just a word of advice, leave that s-h-i-t- alone. It ain’t even worth it.”
The performance in question, which was caught on camera by a fan in Melbourne, Australia, captured the County Grammar star caressing his microphone as he sang his 2004 hit “Over and Over.”
One Twitter user speculated he was “possessed” as his eyes could be seen rolling back into his head as he made strange hand gestures. Outside of reposting comedian Spice Adams’ spoof of the viral moment, Nelly has not addressed fans’ concerns about the performance.
With the conversation turning to the danger of laced drugs, Flesh-n-Bone was asked about how Gangsta Boo‘s death impacted him. He and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony famously faced Boo and the rest of Three 6 Mafia in an explosive Verzuz battle in 2021.
Shortly after her shocking death on January 1, source close to Gangsta Boo told TMZ that they believed a fetanyl-laced substance might have played a roll in her passing.
“I think it affects not only the Verzuz situation, but the whole culture of Hip Hop ultimately in a very impactful way because, from my understanding, it was an overdose,” Flesh-n-Bone said. “And that’s one of those things that segways into what we was talking about earlier because I know so many people by the dozens, family and friends by the dozens and I have to say fentanyl or whatever the case may be that’s coming in, it’s mixin’ in there, you don’t know what you’re doing.
He continued: “Nothing’s organic or pure anymore, they can slip it in your drink. And it’s in the pills, it’s in the weed, it’s in the cigars, it’s in the cigarettes. Just a little dose of it, it can hurt you, it’ll do more damage to you than just the feeling of getting high. I know brothers that lost all their children in their 20s. My brother DJ-Uneek lost both of his sons to that. My brother Ken Dog lost his son to that. The list goes on and on and on. Gangsta Boo OD’d the same thing. Something’s got to give, that’s one of the reasons why I’m sober today.”
Authorities in Memphis have yet to declare an official cause of death as they continue to investigate Gangsta Boo’s case.
bros is funny junkie for 30+ years everyday type of thing quits for a few months and starts preaching ome can handle biz on i some cant if you cant stop its that simple if it messes with real money stop if you have enough to live for 100 years do what ya do cant take none of it wit u and your kids will most likely blo it all anyway if no the grand kids will
Everytime y’all start a conversation off with “bro” things take left field and never makes any sense
That’s the type of person I would rather give me advice, a person that been through the struggle and can relate.
So what? It’s good advice. Any time a rapper dies from an overdose the first everyone does is cry about how noone looked out for them. When someone does reach out the first thing you do is look for a reason to dismiss them. And if he’s going through the same thing then all the more reason to listen.
Weed is only a gateway to junkies. I know 100s of friends smoking since16 never didn’t drugs.. it’s a cop out for drug addicted losers
Fentnyal is killing people of all ages, races, and color. Everyone needs to wake up and release dealers are putting it in all kind of products even weed an Pills. Just be careful all it takes is one time, for it to be to much of that crap your dead. Just like that
