In the wake of Fat Joe’s weight loss this summer, some have questioned whether Don Cartagena would change his stage name.
“I’m Fat Joe,” he maintained in an interview with XXLMag.com. “I’m still fat. You know the fact is if I didn’t do it for health reasons I would be fuckin’ 1,000 pounds happy. I love to eat; that’s what I do.”
Regardless of what Joey wants to call himself, however, it’s natural to wonder whether he had any advice to give another heavy-set rapper, Rick Ross, who recently suffered two seizures.
“He’s a grown man,” responded Joe. “Whatever his health problems are he’s gonna deal with them or do whatever he got [to do]. I can’t offer that man nothin’.”
Fat Joe is currently prepping the release of his mixtape The Darkside, Vol. 2.

More weight can cause seizures that come stress easier. The physical stress of Ross being fat combined with doing multiple shows caused the twin seizures to happen easier. Tech N9ne just did a 58 day tour and he’s laughing. Ross does a week and has 2 seizures within hours of each other? Being fat has everything to do with it.
