Fat Joe has had some help with his substantial 200-pound weight loss, admitting that Ozempic assisted in the process.

Talking to Us Weekly while making the promotional rounds for his hosting duties at the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards, Joey Crack discussed his years-long journey of shedding pounds.

While he takes Ozempic for diabetes, the added effect on his weight has been helpful, he explained — but he’s also mindful with his diet.

“We just try to eat everything with the least carbs as possible,” he told the outlet. “So we try to stay away from the bread, the pasta, the rice. That’s the smartest way to eat. Like this morning I ate breakfast, I had this toast. I cut the corner off, ate it and kept it moving.

“Normally I would’ve ate the whole thing. But you know, that’s what we do. We cut carbs and try to be smarter. Ozempic says you may only have two pieces of your favorite stuff.”

As for changing his moniker from Fat Joe to something more representative of his current look, he joked that his wife Lorena would not be pleased.

“My wife would kill me. She likes me being a big boy,” he said. “She hallucinates like I’m still that big boy. She loves that.”

And it’s clear Joe has been an avid supporter of Ozempic, as last Halloween, he went dressed as a bottle of the drug.

On the music side of things, Fat Joe is gearing up for a new album that he’s been teasing for some time, and recently dropped off the lead single “Paradise” with longtime friend DJ Khaled and Brazilian singer Anitta.

The trio debuted the song with a live performance at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards last month, and it was made available on streaming services immediately following, along with the music video.

“Breaking news: Fat Joe be dropping a[n] album in August, too, so put me in that list of pioneers and legends and icons,” he shared.
