Fat Joe Thinks Michael Jordan Is Still ‘The G.O.A.T.’ Over LeBron James

Fat Joe is still team Michael Jordan when it comes to the basketball “G.O.A.T.” debate that involves the former Chicago Bulls legend and LeBron James.

Complex caught up with Joey Crack and other stars walking the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game’s red carpet over the weekend where Joe sided with Michael Jordan — even though LeBron passed Kareem Abdul Jabbar to earn the all-time scoring record earlier this month.

“MJ’s the GOAT,” Fat Joe declared. “We love LeBron. LeBron is the greatest, at this time. Actually, we worship LeBron. We love him to death, but MJ’s the GOAT.”

On the flip side, Cordae, who was too young to witness Jordan at the height of his fame, said he’s going with LeBron. “I wasn’t alive when MJ was playing,” he explained. “So I can only speak on what I’ve seen and LeBron has been doing the damn thing.”

Fat Joe is one of the more bona fide Air Jordan collectors in Hip Hop. The Bronx native showed off his rare multi-colored Jordan 1’s inspired by the Rubik’s Cube on Christmas Day last year. The multi-colored 1’s were never actually released to the general public and a handful of pairs were crafted as samples; only a lucky few got their hands on them.

LeBron left the All-Star Game with a finger injury after hitting it against the rim Sunday night (February 19) and didn’t return for the second half of his team’s loss to Giannis Antetokounmpo and co.

James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the NBA’s all-time scoring record earlier in February and received heaps of praise from the Hip Hop community. JAY-Z saluted the King’s greatness and longevity spanning his decorated 20-year career in a tribute video message played by TNT on Sunday.

“Being able to perform at a high level for a long period of time, you know, that’s excellence,” Jay said. “Long after you’ve gone, people, they’re looking at your name. That’s what greatness is. There’s not many you can compare LeBron to. 19-time All-Star, a remarkable feat. The all-time scorer, all-time. I mean, what can you say?

“I’ve known LeBron since he was in high school. There was a lot of talk about how amazing he was. We were convinced this guy was super special. He’s been through plenty iterations of the game, and each era, he’s been the best. The chosen one, that’s it.”

    1. I would give the edge to James. MJ was a better mid range, free throw shooter, James better passer, rebounder and control the pace of the game better, both could score at will. Defense it’s a toss up, MJ never really had to consistently guard high level scores, But lock down the guys he did guard, also people aren’t honest about Mj being the second best defender on his team behind Pippen, James size and strength allowed him to be more versatile on Defense in his prime years, he was switching over and guarding Ducan and Garnett.

      1. Good point. The only difference in my opinion with Jordan era is that the dominant players were big men, the 4 and 5..lebron era you seen more wing players and 2 guards break out..Jordan wasn’t going to go to the paint and guard the big men like it’s easier for lebron to.. I still say Jordan is the goat and again my opinion I don’t think it’s close

    2. The objective is simple, Championships. The rest are distant second achievements. Until LB has 6 rings, there is no debate. Add the fact that MJ played in a real contact sport era, and half the fouls not called for him to go to the line and get his points that would add even more to his greatness, and talks come to a quick end,

    3. Saw Both play. Lebron Better overall. Spurs and Warrios all time great teams Supersonics, Suns and Blazers weren’t Plus beating Lakers with no Kareem and Magic on one leg.

    6. LBJ had a 17.8 ppg avg in the 2011 NBA finals while getting his butt kicked by role player Jason Terry…🚫🐐🫵🏽🤡’s

    9. I think they are both the best 2 players ever. Most can’t give them their respect because of their love for one over the other. If I had a a pick of all the greats of all time I would take LBJ first.

    10. The word goat is thrown around way to loosely now-a-days. Bulls Jordan never missed the playoffs. Jordan is the goat. Lebron just scored more points

    11. The word goat is thrown around way to loosely now-a-days. Bulls Jordan never missed the playoffs. Jordan is the goat. Lebron just scored more points

    12. MJ won 6 titles in half the time LBJ took to win 4. Jordan left the game because he had nothing left to prove. UNDEFEATED in the NBA Finals. Forgotten about that u Lebron Lovers. So who’s the GOAT?

      1. But he didn’t play one great team in the Finals not one. Part of the reason you get labeled the greatest is base on who you beat. Ali is labeled the greatest because he beat Liston, Fraizer, Big George, he also lost to Fraizer. It’s not about being undefeated. Lebron played 2 dynasties in the Spurs and Warriors, What he did would have been if Jordan could have beat the Celtics and the lakers in the 80’s. None of the teams Mj played against rank any where close to those Warriors and Spurs teams. The Jazz second best player was a 6’0 unathletic point guard who’s career average was 13pts a game, That Jazz team wasn’t even better than That Miami Heat team with Jimmy Butler, Bam and Tyler Herro.

    13. Jordan was scoring champ 10 times and was all defensive FIRST TEAM 9 times. Not to mention defensive player of the year which LeBron never won. LeBron has the scoring title but NBA helped him with that. Back in Jordan’s days teams rarely scored 100, now you have teams scoring 80 in first half. The game went from a defensive game to an offensive game. Jordan would dominate if defenders weren’t able to touch him (hand check) like the players in this era have benefitted from. In today’s NBA Jordan would average 40 ppg but LeBron wouldn’t dominate in the Jordan era. He’d be a good player but definitely wouldn’t be in the G.O.A.T. conversation

      1. So the NBA would help Lebron get a scoring title but they would never help Jordan get stuff done??? Yea OK buddy. They cleaned the game up in during Jordans time in the league, and didn’t happen during Lebron Era. It was a smart thing to do. You couldn’t have guys nailing superstars potentially breaking their arms, legs, blowing a knee being out for the year. That’s not good for the ratings. The argument that Lebron wouldn’t dominate in Jordans time is extremely silly. You don’t think he would have benefited from the game being more physical? He’s 6’8 260 and has been the most durable superstar in basketball history. Jordan wouldn’t average 40 in today’s NBA because he would actually have to defend he couldn’t rest on defense like he did he wouldn’t be guarding byron russell, john starks, danny ainge, rex chapman, type of guys he would be guarding Klay thompson’s guys that run through screens all day and that could actually score, guys he guarded ran through screens sometimes but the majority of times they ran everything through the post players.

      2. Never said LeBron wouldn’t be good in Jordan’s era I just said he wouldn’t last 20 years cuz of the way they played. The league was still a defensive league in the 90s unlike today. When Jordan retired in retired 98 there were still allowed to have their elbow on people’s back which can help defenders. Now you can’t even touch them. LeBron is a big dude but one of softest to ever play the game. Jordan was a lock down defender, and when the game was on the line he took over. LeBron has always been scared in late games probably cuz he’s shitty at free throws. You must have forgotten of the original player who ran through screens Reggie Miller who Jordan guared many times

      3. Jordan didn’t rest on defense he was one of the best defenders in the league. You don’t win defensive player of the year and named to 9 first team all defense teams if you rest on defense. You either never watched him play or you have convenient amnesia. Go on YouTube and watch why players called him back Jesus. And please don’t forget Jordan never quit on his team like your boy LeBron did several times.
        LET THAT SINK IN

    14. Jordan put his all into every game even games that ddn’t matter. Lebron only tries when he wants to. That makesbJordan the overall better of the two.
