Fat Joe & Ja Rule Bombard Swizz Beatz With 50 Cent Battle Request

The longstanding feud between 50 Cent and Ja Rule is perhaps one of the most infamous beefs in Hip Hop. The two veteran artists have been going at each other for years and with social media, it’s only grown worse.

But as the coronavirus pandemic continues to sideline artists at home, many have turned to Instagram Live to keep themselves (and their fans) entertained.

On Easter Sunday (April 12), Fat Joe jumped on the platform for, what he’s calling, The Fat Joe Show and chopped it up with tenured producer Swizz Beatz. With Ja listening in for part of the session, the two threw around the idea of hosting a IG Live battle between Ja and his famous foe.

“Ja Rule is sayin’ he loves Hip Hop first and foremost and he wants to do this for the culture,” Joe said in the clip. “C’mon, you guys want the smoke for real.”

Swizz replied, “Tell Ja get the 20 and send me the 20. ” Joe then called up Ja and put him on speaker, telling him, “You got millions of people listening, so don’t go bad.”

Ja responded, “I want all the smoke! I’ll behave [laughs],” to which Swizz said, “That sounds like a devilish ‘behave.'”

Joe continued, “All I can say is, man, that would break the internet Ja. We know the catalog.” Ja, of course, has pumped out numerous platinum-selling albums, including 1999’s Venni, Vetti, Vecci, 2000’s Rule 3:36 and 2001’s Pain Is Love.

Swizz agreed he’s more than familiar with Ja’s catalog but wanted to make sure “the intentions are where they need to be.”

Ja Rule Refuses To Name 3 Nice Things About 50 Cent: "We're Sworn Enemies Forever!"

If the battle actually did go down, it might prove tough to keep the two adversaries from clashing. Last October, Ja sat down with Andy Cohen for an episode of Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live and refused to name three nice things about 50.

Instead, he said, “He’s a bad father, he’s got like a big square, box head and he looks like his breath stinks. We’re sworn enemies forever!”

    1. why do they need to go through Swizz and Timb to do all of these battles? what is stoppng them from going on IG live themselves?

    2. 50 has nothing to gain from this whatsoever. Ja Rule literally has nothing going on and needs this. The facts are that Ja Rule has 17 songs on the Billboard Top 100, 9 Top 10 Hits, 0 Number 1 Hits. 50 Cent has 40 songs on the Billboard Top 100, 13 Top 10 Hots, 4 Number 1 Hits. Numbers don’t lie. Most of Ja’s songs got Ashanti or J Lo. Ja barely got enough hits to battle if its 20 vs 20.

      1. You are just lying though. Ja Rule had 3 #1 hits. Always On Time, Ain’t It Funny, and I’m Real. 50 cent has 4 #1 hits. In Da Club, 21 Questions, Crack A Bottle, and Candy Shop. I’m not even much of a Ja Rule fan, but what you wrote is complete and utter bullshit. So, FYI, Ja Rule and 50 both place in top 15 for rappers with #1 hits. You can hate Ja, but he had some very good music at the time. So did 50.

      2. Yeah? Hits isn’t what matters. Songs are. Nas has a hell of a lot led hits than rappers like Kanye and JayZ, but he could go toe to toe in a “battle”.

      1. Why calling ja, idiot are you better than him, what he has archived in the next 50 years nobody in your generation will archive.

    3. How can Ja Rule and 50 do a love battle lol? They aren’t actual battle rappers. Neither of them rap off the dome. They’d just be reciting mesmerized verses on different beats? I mean, I’m not against that, but it’s just reciting lyrics. More of a jam session than a battle at that point I’d say.

      1. bruh they talking about an instagram live hits battle where they just go back and forth playing their songs in poor quality audio and video that. its kind of lame.

    4. I know you not going to like what I’m about to say but hands down Ja Rule has more hits than 50. In addition to that 50 didn’t really use his music to rid Ja Rule out of the business, instead he used the 48 Laws of Power. Read it for yourself and you’ll see what I mean. I probably shouldn’t have told that secret.

      1. I forgot to also add that I’m also gay for Ja Rule. I want his dick in my throat. And no, Ja Rule didn’t have more hits than 50.its literally NUMBERS. Look it up dumbass. 50 has 4 #1 hits, Ja Rule has 3 #1 hits. Then, 50 has wayy more thay hit in top 10 to top 100 than Ja. So disregard my comment above. I’m a retarded liar who doesn’t understand basic math.

    5. Ja can’t take the fact that he loss cause he will try to find anyway to get a W out of it. He needs to move on. Ja was multi platinum cause females was buying his albums and 50 came along and made all his fans jump ship. Ja hang it up we all seen you get that L. There’s no coming back from it.

    6. 50 would destroy Ja all his hits were pop love songs, just saying they aint bad but they arent the type of music like 50 has made

        1. Point being shady buried him ja was the corniest back in them days cant stand that little fucker. You want views? Put his ass in a ring with Fif

    7. Let’s be honest – all the aforementioned artists dropped hard albums before turning pop. Venni Vetti Vecci by Ja Rule, Represent by Fat Joe and Guess Who’s Back by 50 we’re all good projects. All the artists sold out, but hey – it earned them more money than all of us here put together so fair play to them for it. Ja Rules ‘pop’ records were decent for what they were – I’m all for lyrical, grimey hip hop, but back in the day I loved Rule 3:36 and Pain Is Love.

    8. I see Ja & Irv are struggling to remain relevant. If I’m 50, I’m saying no thanks, that battle has already been done. Murder Inc got bodied, we gonna try to recreate history years later? Nope, go organize another festival Ja.

    9. How to Rob, I Smell Pussy, Your Lifes on the Line, Thug Love, Wanksta, Rotten Apple, In Da Club, Back Down, U Not Like Me, 21 Questions, PIMP, If I Can’t, Just a Lil Bit, Outta Control Remix, Hustler’s Ambition, Window Shopper, Best Friend, I’ll Whip Ya Head Boy, Straight to the Bank, Amusement Park, I Get Money, Ayo Technology, I’ll Stil Kill, Get Up, Baby By Me, Do You Think About Me, Down On Me, I Just Wanna, I’m The Man, Big Rich Town, Heat, Patiently Waiting, Hail Mary, Many Men, In My Hood, What Up Gangsta, Hate it or Love It, How We Do, Piggy Bank, Stunt 101, Poppin Them Thangs, Wanna Get To Know You, Smile, Rider Pt. 2, Ryder Music, Ski Mask Way, Baltimore Love Thing
