“Empire” Granted Third Season

The Fox drama Empire has been granted a third season, Variety reports.

The announcement was made today (January 15) by Dana Walden and Gary Newman, chairmmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, at the Television Critics Association in Pasadena, California.

Ratings for Empire have dipped in its second season, but it remains the top-rated broadcast series for the age group 18-49, according to Nielson. It averaged a 7.3 rating.

Sunday (January 10), Taraji P. Henson won the Golden Globe for Best Actress for her role as Cookie Lyon on the show.

Terrence Howard plays her ex-husband, Rap executive Lucious Lyon.

Empire is currently on mid-season hiatus but is scheduled to return to Fox March 30.

    1. “The show is the top-rated series for Women and African American Gays ages 18-49” Fixed

    2. Great show period, I’m gay and its good to see a show that showcases homosexuality although I’m not cool with all the kissing on the show I think that’s exploitation

      1. Bruh who cares u gay its nothing to be proud of especially the way u leave it in damn near every post smh u brag about it as if we are actually interested in your sexual preference as if any of that is needed or wanted on this site smh why not post bout hip hop instead

    3. If they get rid of the brainless pop-bullshit drama and make people rap, then it’s alright. Otherwise I’m not going to watch this, 2 seasons and only good thing they have produced so far is the Snitch Bitch song.
