Eminem has historically shown respect for Hip Hop’s pioneers and architects — and his feature on Nas’ new King’s Disease II track “EPMD 2” featuring EPMD’s Erick Sermon and Parish Smith is no different.
After poignant verses from Nas and EPMD, the diamond-selling MC slides in to commemorate several of the culture’s most impactful artists who have passed away, including DMX, The Fat Boys’ Prince Markie Dee, MF DOOM and Whodini’s John “Ecstasy” Fletcher.
“I guess, R.I.P. out to DMX, Stezo, E, Nipsey and Ecstasy/And Prince Markie Dee, MF DOOM,” he raps. “I hit 50 Cent via text, told that him I love him ’cause I don’t even know when I’ma see ’em next/Tomorrow could be your death/Yeah and this shit ain’t for the faint.”
All the late artists Eminem mentioned have died in the last year. MF DOOM passed away in October 2020 from unknown causes, Ecstasy in December 2020, Prince Markie Dee in February from congestive heart failure and DMX in April from a heart attack stemming from a drug overdose.
The losses didn’t stop there though — Digital Underground legend Shock G and former Bad Boy Records artist Black Rob died not long after DMX passed, while Blackalicious MC Gift of Gab and the lovable Biz Markie followed.
Unlike Kanye West’s Donda album, Nas’ King Disease II arrived at midnight EST right on schedule. The 15-track sequel to the Grammy Award-winning King’s Disease includes features from Ms. Lauryn Hill, Charlie Wilson and Hit-Boy in addition to Eminem and EPMD.
Listen to it below.
album is on point . thank you KInG Nas?
“Eminem murdered you on your own shit”…syke lol. Cool song, but Lauryn got the hardest feature, on the best song.
Stfu, em was all over the place. Nas didn’t even go all out and Ether still hurts 20 years later
I was saying Nas didn’t get ate on his track with Em. Pussy.
I have to agree Em was all over the place on this one it wasn’t like renegade that was what I expected not that fast pace rap, but it was ok could have been better.
Album of the year.
Two in a row. King’s Disease 2.
why is the article centered around eminem
Because he’s white.
Because he’s most famous lol
Because the nas articles are already out, and this ONE in particular happens to be about eminem being on the NAS abum, not about the album. All the Em “should’ve” ex fans and racist black kids always flock to these articles though, and always manage to make it a bad thing. Like clockwork.
This album is pure fire from Nas. That Lauryn Hill assist song is dope as f*ck. Salute to Nas, this album is better than his last 2 albums. Beats are on point. It might be his best produced album along with Illmatic. ???
That Death Row east song is crazy!
Cool that he finally told that story for the general public that so many have told over the years of how they had squashed their beef. Love how he is spotlighting how much love Death Row and especially Pac had not only in the East but in NYC. Also dope as fuck that a West Coast producer is the one producing and bringing this shit to the public. Who would have thought that would be the case 25 years ago with how everyone was so divided around that beef?
song is ass. the fuck you mention Kanye for bro?!
Eminem in the goat. Everyone he shouted out he probably studied and learned from. He’s a pure student of the game. Loves and respects hiphop as an art form and y’all wanna hate on the man FOH
True but he should adjust his fast rapping skill for people to comprehend the lyrics like Nas.
Maybe it’s from the same event dummy
Besides the shout outs Ems verse was weak. That whole santa clause raindeer scheme is played out. And rapping about throwing a mill out the window on the way to the studio after epmd rapping about people not affording housing tells me Em is no longer on this planet. Hes stuck in the studio with all his cash bored out of his mind.
Ha, whooooo else but em
Im done with Em, he doesnt sound good anymore… I never though i would say it but its over for him
You’re kidding right? His flow was insane on this verse…
I was fooled to think that being on a Nas record would equate to a good Eminem verse. First 4 bars with that corny wordplay and it ruined it for me IMO. Just the way it is unfortunately, still giving the album more of a listen….
NaS killed the track with lyrics, Em did lyrical skill, as he always does these days. Disappointed for sure, wish they could just trade bars but nowadays Em always has to rap as fast as he can and make every word rhyme with corny metaphors, still a big Em fan but when he raps like this, there is ZERO replay value…
Em & Nas the GOATS
Nas is just elevating with each release. Em on the other hand…sigh…its as if he thinks rhyming fast without pausing equates to good rapping. he’s literally just rhyming names at the end..J YE Dre kane drakes cool J yada yada… its so try hard its actually sad to see. It worked on Rap God bc it fit the theme of that song, but its now how he rhymes all the time…anyway, just a former Eminem fan venting
It sounded like an Eminem song, the White boy shits on these rappers
Well what you said is true about em fast rhyming, I don’t enjoy it cause I don’t know what he’s talking about. But I read the lyrics and discovered he was paying tribute to rapper who has impacted on the culture, to me this is good. Em should adjust his fast rapping skill do that people can listen to him . Am fan though.

I only listened to this track just because the Rap God is there, and he delivered as usual, making the song his, the rest of the album I won’t listen to it, because Nas sucks.
Yo ass probably smell like Da Baby dick. FOH.
He’s still a fuckin cornball, i mean just look at him, what a fuckin corny lookin ass washed up has been
“Unlike Kanye West” lol why put that in there, post had nothing to do with Kanye
Because it’s relevant when they were supposed to drop on the same day. How dumb are you? And why the fuck do you care anyway?
East coast dick riders,
Keep hating!! You sound so stupid cuz you just can’t handle the fact that he’s been shitting all over you and your washed up favorite garbage rappers for over 2 decades and will continue to whenever he feels like dropping or collabing. Cuz he can and will always outsell all your favs….just like in the past and will continue to in the future. And yes, all you fuck boys will be there in the comments saying the same shit…. ironically what your accusing him of. -FACTS
