Eminem is now just one award shy of becoming an EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, Tony) winner. The prolific MC won a Creative Arts Emmy on Saturday night (September 3) in the Outstanding Variety Special (Live) for his memorable Super Bowl LVI Pepsi Halftime Show performance alongside Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent.
Only 17 artists have achieved this “Grand Slam” achievement and it’s unlikely to see Slim Shady on Broadway any time soon — but it’s certainly not out of the realm of possibility (hey, stranger things have happened).

Eminem won his first Grammy Award in 2000 for The Slim Shady LP, which was crowned Best Rap Album. Since then, he’s won an additional 14 gilded trophies and racked up an additional 44 nominations.
In 2003, he won an Oscar in the Best Original Song category for “Lose Yourself” from the film 8 Mile. While he didn’t perform at that year’s ceremony, he showed up nearly 20 years later to perform “Lose Yourself” at the 94th Annual Academy Awards in 2020. He later joked about it on Twitter, writing, “Look, if you had another shot, another opportunity. Thanks for having me @TheAcademy. Sorry it took me 18 years to get here.”
With over 220 million records sold across the world, Eminem is one of the best-selling artists in music history and often credited for popularizing Hip Hop in middle America.
Earlier this year, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, adding to the short list of Hip Hop artists given the honor. As of 2022, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Beastie Boys, N.W.A, Public Enemy, Run-DMC, 2Pac, Biggie, JAY-Z and LL COOL J.
All he has to do is make someone set up 8 mile as a broadway play and get it nominated and hopefully win. Not at all impossible.
