Eminem made a surprise appearance in his hometown of Detroit on Thursday (June 6) and shared the stage with a few friends, new and old.

Slim Shady took to the stage at Michigan Central Station for a star-studded concert celebrating the reopening of the famous landmark after 30 years.

Joined by D12‘s Mr. Porter and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the self-proclaimed Rap God performed his latest single “Houdini” for the first time.

He then teamed up with Jelly Roll for a duet of “Sing for the Moment” and reunited with fellow Motor City native Trick Trick for “Welcome 2 Detroit.”

Em, who was only named as an executive producer of the show alongside his longtime manager Paul Rosenberg, closed out the surprise medley with a rendition of his 2010 hit “Not Afraid.”

Other performers at the event included Big Sean, Jack White, Diana Ross and Slum Village, who alongside Common and Illa J paid tribute to the late, great J Dilla.

In other Eminem news, he made headlines earlier this week that took him far from the world of rap and into the seedy underbelly of politics.

The “Lose Yourself” rapper was mocked by Donald Trump Jr. after allegedly making critical comments about his father.

The eldest son of the former U.S. president took to X to attack Slim Shady in response to a viral post claiming that he vowed to “leave America if Trump is elected.”

Trump Jr. replied by poking fun at Em’s appearance, writing above a photo of the rapper: “Are you really telling me that’s not Ellen DeGeneres????”

However, it appears that Trump Jr. fell for fake news as there’s no evidence that Em made such comments.

Despite this, Eminem has been made no secret of his disdain for Donald Trump in the past.

The 51-year-old called out the controversial businessman turned politician on his song “Campaign Speech” which dropped shortly before the 2016 presidential election (which Trump won).

“You say Trump don’t kiss ass like a puppet/ ‘Cause he runs his campaign with his own cash for the fundin’/ And that’s what you wanted/ A fuckin’ loose cannon who’s blunt with his hand on the button/ Who doesn’t have to answer to no one –great idea!” he rapped.

Em also called Trump a “bitch” in his verse on Big Sean‘s “No Favors” which dropped a few weeks after he took office.
