Soon after Nipsey Hussle‘s beautiful memorial at the Staples Center on Thursday (April 11), eBay was inundate with people trying to sell his memorial programs and now the auction site is taking action by swiftly removing all attempts to profit off his death using their platform.
“These booklets are prohibited under eBay’s policies,” a spokesperson from eBay informed TMZ. “Any items that attempt to profit from human tragedy or suffering are not allowed to be sold on eBay.”
The free programs were made available to those in attendance of his life celebration.
A source tells HipHopDX that once they were admitted, an employee directed them to a table of obituaries, instructing mourners to take one per person. However, another attendee seemingly ran off with the entire box of programs and multiple attendees brandished off “stacks” of the coveted booklets.
This isn’t the first time people have tried to make money from Nipsey’s homegoing. Tickets to attend the memorial were also made available for free and went up for grabs on Tuesday (April 9). Within minutes, the tickets were sold out and scalpers were selling them on eBay and Craigslist.
Both eBay and Craigslist shut down those attempts as well and the ticket service company responsible for distributing the tickets, AXS, made an announcement that all tickets were non-transferable so selling them would be fruitless.

Nipsey done so much for his hood just to be gunned down in the same area. He was owed more than that. And the disrespect by the same community to be selling funeral tickets and obituaries takes the disrespect to an higher level. Now the friend that he went to help out with clothes after being locked up for 20 years is now back in jail for going there and meeting Nip which violated his parole terms due to Nip being in a gang. So was it all worth it. Nonthing was accomplished from that visit for both parties. He could have called the store clerk and had him in her to put a package together for his friend.
