Fans hoping for a Goodie Mob reunion have had their wish granted. The Goodie Mob [click to read] will reunite for one night only in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at The Masquerade. Doors for the show will open at 7:00pm and tickets for the “Remember Atlanta” show have already gone on sale via Ticketmaster.
“The Goodie Mob reunion is something we have collectively talked about doing for a long time. The people have called for it, and with the state of the union the way it is, the time is right,” said Cee-Lo Green [click to read] in a statement.
In other news, HipHopDX has found a way to give fans new music for free. Gold Dust Media and HipHopDX have released Gold Dusted Volume 1, a compilation of new music from a variety of artists. In July of 2008, one of the most popular deejays in Baltimore, Maryland passed away. A little over a year after DJ K-Swift’s death, more news is coming out of Baltimore.
To commemorate the deejay’s life, her friends at Radio One held a dinner in her honor and awarded the K-Swift Memorial Scholarship.
In negative news related to K-Swift’s tragic passing, her family is suing her former business partners citing fraud. They claim that K-Swift’s signature was forged on legal documents and that the company is withholding royalties. According to Baltimore’s The Daily Record [click here], the lawyer helping Unruly Productions in this case claims that these allegations are “ridiculous.”
