In other news, producer and Los Angeles based artist Damizza has informed DubCNN.com that Nate Dogg’s health has improved in recent months. The West Coast veteran suffered a stroke in 2007 and another one in 2008, both of which left him relegated to a wheelchair and partially paralyzed in the face. According to Damizza, Nate Dogg has been recovering and asking to listen to his old music.
Damizza also shared an address that fans can send letters to in support of the singer:
Nathaniel Hale
8306 Wilshire Blvd #484
Beverly Hills, CA 90211
Because Nate Dogg’s mother will be reading the letters to him, Damizza has asked that fans keep the letters clean out of respect. HipHopDX will continue to give updates on this story.
Finally, Knitting Factory Records has announced plans to release the second set of Fela Kuti reissues next month. The set will include 7 CDs consisting of 14 albums, and will chronicle the afrobeat pioneer’s most colorful and politically charged work of the 1970s including Excuse O (1975), Ikoyi Blindness (1976), and Kalakuta Show (1976).
The reissuing of Fela’s work runs parallel with the biographical Broadway musical FELA!, which celebrates Fela’s life and musical legacy. The critically acclaimed show is produced by rapper Jay-Z as well as actors Will and Jada Pinket Smith.
The 7-disc set will release on May 11, while the third reissue is scheduled to release this fall.
50cent a bitch ass rapper he weak as hell straight up
I don’t see what’s “weak” about creating a mini-empire from nothing, employing people from his hood and making OK music. I’m not the biggest 50 fan, but the internet hate he gets is just crazy. Can’t believe people spend time leaving negative comments about rappers they don’t even know. Shit, say something positive for once.
I bet he’s sold more records than your favorite rapper
And has a classic album unlike your fav rapper
I agree alot of wack albums but his mixtapes are stellar and make up for it
You seem to like Ross’ dick alot!
@ c/gaddic
you went out of your way to tell me about 50’s sales/mixtapes/classic album…
so tell me…who’s on who’s dick?
How is someone who created an empire from nothing, came up when everyone counted him out, employs people from his neighborhood and makes fairly good music weak? I can’t understand why people spend time talking shit about rappers they don’t even know. That’s “weak.â€
