Drake says he enjoyed blockbuster first-day sales for his VIEWS album.
“I got a text message that we sold like 630,000 something records in one night,” the Canadian rapper-singer says in an Instagram clip from his launch party in Toronto posted on utorlive’s Instagram page. “That’s the first time I’ve ever done that shit.”
The project was released Thursday (April 28) to iTunes and is set to arrive on other retailers next week. VIEWS features 20 tracks and includes collaborations with Rihanna, Future, Pimp C and dvsn.
In February 2015, Drake’s If Youre Reading This Its Too Late sold 494,746 albums its first week of availability.

Every Drake album is overrated. His first album Thank Me Later was alright but didn’t live up to all the hype it had. After that, every thing this nigga made has been straight trash. Take Care, Nothing Was The Same, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, and that garbage he did with Future wack ass. Then stupid niggas on here saying he better than Kendrick and Cole? Yo Ricky, u trippin. I love Kendrick and I prefer Kendrick over Drake since the release of GKMC but Drake’s shit has always been very solid. Views so far hasn’t impressed me so far, but some of the songs actually grew on me. Take Care was his best effort in my opinion, with IYRTITL being very close behind, mostly because it was so unexpected and raw. I would even dare to say IYRTITL was better than untitled unmastered, which feels like a bunch of leftover tracks and really didn’t do much for me. You could argue that he didn’t write some of the songs himself but keep in mind that Drake used to write hit records for other artists, so for me the final product is what is important. And please, J Cole must be one of the most overrated artists in today’s rap. His delivery is really nothing special at all. Forest Hills Drive was okay though, but never ever ever ever EVER even close to ANY of Kendricks albums. I’d say its about on the same level as Views
