Drake Fans Debate Whether Tour Lookalike Is Real Person Or A Hologram

Drake has continued to keep fans on their toes while on his It’s All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage, including inspiring a debate about whether the person playing his younger self was a hired hand or a hologram.

Marking the first of 56 dates, Drizzy and 21 Savage kicked off their joint tour in the windy city, with back-to-back shows at Chicago’s United Center earlier this week — chockfull of headline-grabbing moments.

One of which included the Toronto rhymer enlisting someone to portray him as a teen. However, some fans believed the individual was a hologram.

“Drake’s hologram hands him a book,” read one caption, alongside a video clip featuring Champagne Papi sitting on a sofa as his younger self hands him a book.

“This younger Drake has to be a hologram or AI generated I can’t believe he’s a real human,” added another user. “This is so cool but Drake is a geek,” commented another. With the overall consensus being “That’s trippy.”

Others immediately had their doubts while maintaining that people will fall for anything. “There was never no doubt (pinched fingers emoji) ppl believe anything (laughing emoji),” another user chimed in.

“Y’all really thought that was a hologram LMAO,” wrote one user taking a jab at believers, while another suggested that had it really been a hologram it would have favored the rapper more. “i was gonna say no way they couldn’t make the hologram look a little more like young drake lmao,” she tweeted.

“Everyone saying Drake performed with a hologram got me tweaked out rn… If it was, I’m lowkey shocked because I looked at that boy with my own eyes and thought he was real,” another person, on the fence, wrote via Twitter.

The debate later cooled, after video footage of the young man believed to be playing an adolescent Drake, showed him walking off stage. As for his stage persona, further speculation alleges the rapper used face tech to mimic that of a hologram.

The It’s All a Blur Tour opener has delivered a series of other viral moments including holographic sperm floating above the stage, a cellphone being hurled at Drake from the crowd, a slight Childish Gambino diss, and more notably, a heartfelt tribute to late fashion designer, Virgil Abloh.

“Please make some noise for one of the most important people I’ve met in this industry,” he said on stage amid the unveiling of a statue of Abloh. “Make some noise for one of the greatest minds that we’ve ever seen.”
