Drake Promises New Solo Album: ‘A Conversation Y’all Need To Hear’

Drake is preparing a solo album to follow his forthcoming collaborative LP with PARTYNEXTDOOR, but he plans to drop it “when the time is right.”

Talking to fans on the second night of his 16-date tour in Australia, Drizzy revealed that he’s got some things to share.

“Eventually when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all,” he said after plugging the PND collab. “When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album — a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear.”

You can view the clip below.

Drake kicked off the tour, dubbed the Anita Max Win tour, on Tuesday (February 4) in Perth.

During a heartfelt speech at the end of the show, Drizzy thanked the sold-out venue for keeping his career going for nearly 20 years and made sure to note that he is “very much alive.”

“My name is Drake. I started doing music in 2008,” he said. “I come all the way from Toronto, Canada. The year is now 2025, and no matter what, Drizzy Drake is very much alive and that’s all thanks to you. I love you.”

The 6 God, who just recently watched his fierce rival Kendrick Lamar sweep the Grammys with his diss song “Not Like Us,” was clearly in a defiant mood during the show.

He walked out to the stage wearing a hoodie riddled with faux bullet holes and a trial of smoke behind him, while his 2011 song “Over My Dead Body” played through the speakers.

The Toronto native also wrote on Instagram alongside photos from the concert: “They thought einstein was lying & shakespeare was barely rhyming & edison wasn’t lit despite what he was designing. So how can I give af what they say about my stars aligning.”

Days earlier, Drizzy decided to be a little petty and announced the release date for his project with PND, $OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U, while Kendrick was sweeping at the Grammys.

The Canadian superstars shared a short video that contained what appears to be an excerpt of one of the songs from the record — and also announced its release date and apparent title.

    “$OME $EXY $ONGS 4 U, FEBRUARY 14,” they captioned the post.

A tracklist has not been revealed, but PND previously said there will be 15 songs on the album.

    1. Read the room Drake. Your popularity is at an all time low. He should’ve taken that long hiatus from music like he said he would last year. Instead, he got his ass handed to him by Kendrick

      1. He sold out the Australian tour and his album sales still top 99% of all of the musical artists except for Taylor swift. He’s bigger than kendrick even with the hate drake is getting

      2. He better stay in Australia then. Because in the US he’s considered a Karen. And he’s a pop singer, he’ll always have his fan base of teenage girls and gay dudes .. but as far as hip hop’s concerned, he has zero credibility especially after his lawsuit

    2. Everybody isn’t media droids, I’m copping. His music is still likable. I don’t give a shit about no other people arguing with each other even Drake’s pops gets it search on YouTube “Drake’s dad’s response to Kendrick Lamar beef”
