Drake and Future are no longer feuding after privately burying the hatchet, according to Elliott Wilson.

In the latest twist in the Hip Hop civil war that erupted earlier this year, Wilson revealed on the latest episode of The Bigger Picture that the What a Time to Be Alive collaborators recently squashed their beef over the phone.

“I have it on good authority that Drake and Future have at least gotten on the phone and resolved their differences,” he said.

The veteran Hip Hop journalist suggested that the truce was helped by Young Thug‘s recent social media post in which he urged Drake, Future and Metro Boomin to make amends.

“@Drake @1future @MetroBoomin we all bruddas. Music aint the same without us collabin,” Thugger wrote on X (formerly Twitter) in October, prior to his release from jail after agreeing a plea deal in his long-running YSL RICO case.

“I think that helped the energy when Future reposted it,” Wilson said.

Despite being mentioned in Thug’s tweet, Metro Boomin was not a part of the peace talks, according to Wilson.

“There’s no trust there still with Metro,” he joked, “but I do believe that Drake and Future are back on the same page.”

Wilson also noted that a Drake and Future reconciliation isn’t all that surprising given the 6 God held off on dissing Pluto in the way that he did Kendrick Lamar and his other “20 vs. 1” opponents (“Pluto shit make me sick to my stomach, we ain’t never really been through it / Leland Wayne, he a fuckin’ lame, so I know he had to be an influence,” he rapped on “Family Matters,” blaming Metro for the friction).

“Obviously we know that Drake and Future have so much history. Drake was the one saying, ‘We never really went through it.’ [Future] got the lightest of all the taps in the one v. 20, so it makes sense in some capacity,” the former XXL editor-in-chief concluded.

Drake and Future’s once-prolific partnership fractured in March following the release of the latter’s We Don’t Trust You album with Metro Boomin, which was laced with shots aimed at Drizzy.

In addition to Kendrick Lamar’s blistering guest verse on the chart-topping “Like That,” Hendrix himself appeared to subliminally diss his frequent collaborator on the opening title track.

“You a n-gga number one fan, dawg / Sneak dissin’, I don’t understand, dawg / Pillow talkin’, actin’ like a fed, dawg / I don’t need another fake friend, dawg / Can’t be ’bout a ho, ’cause we sharin’, dawg / In yo feelings, n-gga, why you playin’, dawg?” he spit.

The lyrical jabs continued on Future and Metro’s follow-up album We Still Don’t Trust You, which saw A$AP Rocky and The Weeknd step into the ring.

There even appeared to be simmering tension leading up to the two albums, with rumors that Future was “upset” at Drake for dropping a joint album with 21 Savage.

“I heard there’s a big rumor that Future is not too happy with this Drake and 21 Savage album [Her Loss], and it makes Drake and Future’s album not as important, I would say,” N.O.R.E. said while guest hosting The Breakfast Club in early 2023.

“This is allegedly, this is all rumors, I’ve never heard it from Future’s mouth, never heard it from Drake, never heard it from 21, but it’s an alleged big rumor that’s going on right now.”

Now that Drake and Future are back on good terms, all eyes will be on a potential musical reunion between the dynamic duo — just don’t expect Metro Boomin to be behind the boards.
