Drake and Future slid into the DMs of an LSU women’s basketball star following the team’s recent NCAA championship win.
Angel Reese appeared on The Breakfast Club alongside LSU Tigers teammate and aspiring rapper Flau’jae Johnson on Monday (April 24), where DJ Envy and Charlamagne Tha God asked if any celebrities have contacted her since the school’s championship win over the Iowa Hawkeyes earlier this month.

“Let’s just say congratulations, I’m gonna say all congratulations to clear the air ’cause I know how it get,” Reese replied. “Drake, Future … they just congratulated me. Congratulations, these are all congratulations.”
Charlamagne jokingly warned Reese that she’d be wise to “stay away” from the What a Time To Be Alive duo, before Envy added: “That’s how it starts. Then Drake gon’ say, ‘Yo, you know I got a basketball court at the crib?’ Did he say that yet?”
The 20-year-old college basketball star revealed that DJ Khaled and French Montana also messaged her following the win.
Drake is no stranger to sliding into DMs. In May 2022, he embarrassed a heckler on Instagram who was making fun of his alleged use of a ghostwriter.
“I just followed your girl cause she’s prob miserable and needs some excitement in her life,” he responded.

Not only did Drizzy follow the man’s wife on Instagram, but he also direct messaged her, saying: “I’m here for u ma.”
Drake was trolled himself earlier this year when music critic Anthony Fantono faked a direct message from the OVO hitmaker.
“Anthony! It’s Drizzy,” the message began. “I know we don’t really see eye-to-eye about music and that you are not the biggest fan of most of my albums (thanks for the kind words on Take Care and If You’re Reading This tho). But it is what it is, you know. Can always hope you’ll like the next one!”
It continued: “But I’m not messaging you about your videos. I’m actually messaging you cause I found a really great vegan cookie recipe I’d love you to try! I’d really appreciate it if you could give this a spin and let me know if it’s worth trying myself! Appreciate you! Drizzy out!”

Drake came across the fake message and responded to Fantano by giving him a taste of his own medicine.
“Your existence is a light 1,” he wrote to him. “And the 1 is cause your alive. And cause you somehow wifed a black girl. I’m feeling a light to decent 1 on your existence.”
