Drake reunited with his mentor Bun B in Texas earlier this week, during the latter’s set at one of the state’s grandest events of the year.
On Tuesday (March 12), the NRG Stadium in Houston hosted a series of performances by artists such as Lil Jon, Rick Ross, Nelly, Ying-Yang Twins, E-40, Too $hort and more as part of the 2024 RodeoHouston gathering. The UGK veteran also took the stage that evening, during which a fleet of black SUVs pulled up to the venue’s center.

“And to thank you for all that you’ve done for me and my family, I present to you, The Boy,” Bun told the roaring crowd as the Canadian superstar got out of one of the cars. “This is our newest resident, please make some noise for Drizzy Drake.”
The 6 God’s limited setlist consisted of fan favorites “N 2 Deep,” “Nonstop,” “SICKO MODE” and “Rich Baby Daddy.” Most notably, though, he closed out his guest appearance with the 2009 So Far Gone cut “November 18th.”

In addition to paying homage to the late DJ Screw and emulating Houston’s signature sound, the track references the date Drake flew out to the city to meet with Lil Wayne, laying the foundation for what would become one of Hip Hop’s strongest alliances to date.

Bun B has been a staunch supporter of Drake’s career for over a decade, tracing back to when he was featured on the latter’s aforementioned mixtape. The two have since developed a close bond built on mutual admiration.
Last year, the Toronto native made a surprise visit to the newly opened Trill Burgers brick-and-mortar location in H-Town, where he lent his stamp of approval for the OG’s work in the culinary department.
Taking to his Instagram Story to review the food, the 37-year-old crowned it the “best burger” he’s ever had in his life.
“I don’t like to use the term OG, this is one of my mentors. This is one of my favorite people in the world,” Drizzy said of Bun before asking him to tell his followers where they were at.
“Right now you’re sitting in Trill Burgers having one of the best burgers in the world,” he replied. “People are very respectful here. We get a couple of big deals in here every now and then. Maybe not this big.”

Drake capped off the clip with high praise for the burger after munching it down with a side of fries and saying: “The best burger I’ve ever had, for real.”
