Dr. Dre Verses Since “2001” Ranked By Entertainment Weekly

Given the time Dr. Dre took between releasing his 2001 album in 1999 and dropping his Compton: A Soundtrack By Dr. Dre project yesterday (August 6), Entertainment Weekly decided to compile a list of “Every Dr. Dre verse since 2001 ranked.”

“The Recipe,” the Compton, California rapper-producer’s collaboration with protege Kendrick Lamar tops Entertainment Weekly’s list. “Dre is positively on point in his best guest spot since his last album,” the story says. “He switches up his flow once or twice (a pretty uncommon thing for Dre), and at one point brags about the fact that he wants to buy the Pacific Ocean, which is both spectacularly silly and kind of badass.”

Dr. Dre’s appearance on Eminem’s “B**** Please II” is #2 on the list. The song also features Snoop Dogg, Xzibit and Nate Dogg. “In a crowded room, Dre manages to rise above everybody—even Eminem—on this posse cut from The Marshall Mathers LP that acted as a sequel to a Dre-produced track from Snoop’s No Limit Top Dogg,” the story says.

Dr. Dre’s appearances with Xzibit, King T, Nate Dogg and others appear on the EW list.

      1. Which rapper that writes, produces, engineers and signs artists has stayed relevant for 35 years in the game? Shat up!

    1. Dre has been behind the curtains for some time now. The times he has made and produced records with other artist like Xzibit, Eminem, and Snoop Dogg, the beats are off the hook. So youngsters that don’t know the history talking about Dre is not good. you were probably still shitin in your diper when all this was happening. New so called artist’s today come and go and soon be forgotten. Artist who made it all happen NWA are legendary.

    2. I remember when I was like 13 I had the entire 2001 album memorized. That and the Marshal Mathers LP (produced by Dre) are the only albums that were ever on that kind of level for me. Nice to see Dre finally drop another album and turn the rap game upside down

    4. Idiots hating on Dre on the boards. The guy behind the best work from Ice Cube, Eazy E, 2Pac, Snoop, Em, 50, and Kendrick. Think Cube and Eazy didn’t appreciate having the best producer in the game in the 80s? California Love was a Dre track that got blessed to Pac after he got out of prison. It became his biggest hit. The back and forth rhymes on the Chronic and Doggystyle with Snoop? Insane. I lived in Detroit in the 90s. Em doesn’t make it out of underground status w/o DRE. He’s just a nice white boy who probably signs to Rawkus who was more concerned with Mos Def and Kweli at the time. Kendrick copped a co-sign and now he’s the biggest rapper in the game now. Come on man. Show some respect.
