Dr. Dre is evidently putting the final touches on Anderson .Paak’s upcoming album, which is believed to be titled Oxnard Ventura (the title isn’t 100 percent confirmed).
In an Instagram photo posted on Tuesday (July 10), the Aftermath founder has his hands on a massive mixing board alongside engineer Quinten Gilkey who has his head down, seemingly absorbing the music.
The photo was shared by Tyhiem “Ty” Cannon, who is Aftermath Entertainment’s Head of A&R.
OnSmash posted a text message exchange between Dre and .Paak confirming the Hip Hop mogul’s role in the album.
“Just finished mixing … shit’s dope,” Dre wrote. “I’m starting … tonight. Here we go!!!”
Dre added, “Thank You for letting me just do my thing with your project. I promise I won’t let you down. I’m in it!!!”
The forthcoming project serves as .Paak’s first solo album since 2016’s Malibu. He also released a collaborative project with producer Knxwledge, Yes Lawd!, that same year.
In terms of his next effort, the Grammy Award-nominated artist dropped “Bubblin'” and an accompanying video in May.
The album is expected to arrive sometime this year. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]
Who Care’s if Dr.Dre next album don’t do the numbers it’s not going to hurt the brand for Future products but him not doing a album will hurt the Hop Culture because Hip hop needs a big world tour across the globe so the team can pay tribute to R.I.P Nate Dogg & Proof for giving their all on the Up In Smoke Tour I’m grateful I got to them perform before they past . Dre got do it at this Feature them whole album out .
Paak is such a dope artist!!! Can’t wait for the new album. Malibu, and the Nx worries albums will stand the test of time.
We want Jon Connor- vehicle City
Facts. I wanna here what they do with Justice too if he’s still signed with them.
Aftermath will NEVER be as good as DEATH ROW
I have to disagree, substance will beat out quantity any day. Paak is a serious artist with a lot to say. Deathrows image and mentally is what killed them. The name Aftermath speaks for itself.
2Pac would slay them all.
Actually the Aftermath roster had an average length of 7.1 inches soft, 12.8 inches while Death Row was 5.4 inches soft, 11.1 inches hard (though Daz’s 1.5, 4.6 dragged down the average)
wow his album is actually happening! hopefully Dre doesnt pull the plug like he has on so many other Aftermath projects/artists. cant wait for this though!
Mixing is great but what about production?
Does Dre even make beats anymore?
