Comedian, actor and radio host DL Hughley is premiering his late-night talk show, The DL Hughley Show, on Monday (March 18).
Co-hosted by Jasmine Sanders, the show will cover topics ranging from entertainment to news, served up with Hughley’s signature comedy and commentary.
“I’m excited for the opportunity to expand my radio show and bring it to a late-night television audience,” Hughley said in a press release. “I want to talk about things that matter to our community and this show will mirror what everyone is talking about every day.”
Hughley announced the news last week during an interview with The Breakfast Club, where he cracked jokes and offered insight about Jussie Smollett, R. Kelly and Michael Jackson.
“Really, the basis for all this, is I wanna do what you all do here,” he said. “I think you challenge convention, I think you’re human, I think you’re bright and I think that’s a rare combination. I’m gonna try and do the same thing–except not as nice.”
The DL Hughley Show will air Monday through Thursday evenings on TV One.

Please allow me to explain what is racism…so that you will stop misapplying the word…racist. I will use an illustration: if I as a black person prefer to live in an all black community, I am not a racist…biased, yes…maybe even predjudice. But if I then tell my neighbors not to sell their homes to anyone white…call the police on whites simply because they are walking in the neighborhood…confront anyone white and tell them they don’t belong and to get out…at that point racism has occurred and I would be a racist. Racism occurs from a position of power in order to oppress one or a group based on their race. You can’t be racist just for talking about race relations in this country!! You are welcome

What do you care what shows…radio or television that black people or any other race watch? If I were a betting woman and I am not, based on your FEAR of what I think of YOU, I would say you have a diet of Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Tucker Carlson…washed down with a side of Fox News. Do I care? No. It is arrogant of you… that You think you should tell any adult..let alone an entire race what tv shows they should watch.
I love DL. He knows what is going on in the world and can articulate it without screaming personal insults like so many these days. White folks on this comment section don’t like him because his words make you uncomfortable because they are true.
