What began as a simple challenge by Brazilian DJ Nyack has blossomed into a full-blown movement dedicated to the influence of the legendary DJ Premier.
“[DJ Premier] inspired many of us, so I decided to pay homage with this video,” Nyack wrote on Instagram, nominating DJs such as Skratch Bastid and X-Ecutioners member DJ Boogie Blind to participate.
The two responded, adding nominations of their own as the challenge exploded from there. It even caught the attention of Preemo himself.
Nyack reacted to challenge’s popularity via Instagram last week, sharing his appreciation for how expansive it became.
“A week ago I had a simple idea and decided to put it in work for the love of turntablism culture,” he wrote. “I am grateful to see it sparked a movement with DJs around the world and it even got to the point of being acknowledged and thanked by the honoree himself.”
He added, “Thank you so much, DJ Premier! And too all those who got on and those who still will. Keep them tables turning.”
Following Preemo’s battle with RZA, it looks like the challenge could gain more attention and continue over the weeks to come.

^ sad little troll alert. Preemo is still producing bangers to this day. Meanwhile, you’re getting your kicks acting like a little prick on then internet. You’re probably more than half his age and you’re more washed up than the dude has ever been…
Sorry everyone, I forgot to post this using my real name!
Anyway, what I said about Preemo still stands! I am of course the the Superior (SUPER) producer, and I’ll slap RZA any old day as well!
Get it right…1995 is FOREVER dope…2020 is str8 garbage
Nothing of much note has dropped this year, but I’m putting that on the pandemic. You’re seriously tripping though if you can’t acknowledge that real, grown folk hip hop still exists out there…There have been countless albums in the last few years that have been fire. Love the old school, but you can’t be a fan of hip hop if you’re not listening to the real ish thats still being made…
Very interesting
