DJ Premier Has No Beef With Lil Uzi Vert

Earlier this week (September 7), Ab-Soul took to Twitter to criticize Lil Uzi Vert for refusing to freestyle over a DJ Premier beat during an interview with Hot 97 back in February.

“All these new ‘lil’ niggaz is weak as the time it took to create earth…” Ab-Soul tweeted, adding, “We don’t pass on PRIMO beats in this sport kids!”

DJ Premier later responded to Soulo’s comments publicly.

“Big up tha homie Ab-Soul! Salute e’ry time bredren! @abdashsoul” the legendary producer tweeted.

The Hip Hop community was quick to assume there was a rift between Premier and Lil Uzi Vert. But the “Unbelievable” beatmaker clarified via Twitter today (September 9) that there’s nothing to that. The two apparently “conversated” to talk things over.

“Shout to the LiL Homie @LILUZIVERT for reachin’ out to me directly…dope things were said and I respect that…We all good…Salute”

He also made clear he has no beef with the Philly rapper.

Lil Uzi Vert has yet to respond to the incident publicly.

      1. What? How did he sell out? This is a super stupid comment. He’s never sold out. Even his beats for Christina Aguilera are fucking fire.

    1. “Dj Premier has no beef with ‘Lil Uzi Vert'”

This is one of the most tragic headlines I’ve ever seen on HHDX. I died a little inside upon reading it. I actually have no idea who “lil Uzi Vert” is but with a name like that, one would seriously hope that DJ Premier has serious issues with him as a person and artist.

Anyway, I’ve heard plenty of Primo’s classics, but there’s always a few I missed. I heard a song by a forgotten NYC group called All City today, the song was called The Actual. Produced by Primo. And its a dope ass song. Check it out if you’ve never heard it.

      1. “No doubt, doubt, doubt, baby, All City crew! Don’t get it wrong! Comin’ threw with the crew” That one’s still hot.

    2. Premier is a grown man. Its not a big deal if lil uzi vert refused to rap on one of primo’s beats. Maybe he didn’t wanna embarrass himself. Smart move on his part. At least Premier was understanding about the situation.

      1. Uzi Vert didn’t wanna rap on it because it was an “old beat”. He also said it was “drums and nothing else”. Nothing to do with embarrassing himself.
