DJ Muggs & Ill Bill Prepare “Kill Devil Hills” For August

Two artists big on collaboration are Cypress Hill’s DJ Muggs and La Coka Nostra’s Ill Bill. HipHopDX learned this morning that the duo will release Kill Devil Hills on August 24 through Fat Beats Records.

The California pioneer producer and Brooklyn emcee/producer worked together previously on Bill’s acclaimed 2008 release, Hour of Reprisal. Kill Devil Hills will feature early ’90s alumi Raekwon, Sean Price, O.C., Everlast and B-Real, along with Sick Jacken and others.

“I prefer getting in the lab and actually creating projects with people instead of just sending out beat CDs. I’m a producer in the fullest extent, where I like to not only produce an album; but craft an album. Being able to start a record from the beginning and following through with it, making sure that all the songs compliment each other. I’ve always come from making albums and producing my records—I’m still into that” said DJ Muggs in a statement.

Previously, Muggs has done fully produced, in-studio albums with GZA and Planet Asia, in addition to his solo/Soul Assassins catalog, Cypress Hill work, and late ’80s work with group, 7A3, signed to Ice-T’s Rhyme Syndicate imprint.

The duo will also be among the headlining acts for this year’s Rock The Bells traveling festival.

Ill Bill is also said to be at work on a full-length collaborative project with Jedi Mind Tricks’ Vinnie Paz.

    3. the most useless motherfucker in da rap game is ill bill,he never was anybody nor will ever be…

u know who the goat is…

      1. both of these cds will b better than 99% of the garbage thats put out this year. Know real hip hop when u hear it

      2. Handy, your gimmick is beyond played out.

You know that you’ve never heard an ILL BILL song in your life, so you have no right to speak on the man’s music.

ILL BILL is undeniably one of the dopest MCs in the game in the present day.

Kill Devil Hills will be a masterpiece.

BTW, I’m listening to a Lli Wayne mix CD right now, so don’t try to say I’m biased against the kid you dickride so hard.

P.S.: Your gimmick doesn’t deserve 90% of the responses it gets, but you talking shit about Bill is inexcusable.

    4. ill bill x vinnie paz will be a full LP under the name of “heavy metal kings” and will be produce with a FULL heavy metal band….this ill bill x muggz album will be one of the best this year!!! east-side undergrounp boom-bap holdin it down in 2010!!! vinnie paz – season of the assassin, AOTP – unholy terror, Reef the Lost cauze – fight music, ill bill x dj muggz, vinnie paz x ill bill – heavy metal kings, and jus allah with his new joint!!!! people will feel that muderous shit this year no doubt!!!!!!

    5. This album is gonna be a classic. can’t wait for it. Muggs is a beast behind the boards. and Bill is a beast on the mic. this gonna be crazy. same with Bill’s album with Vinnie Paz. i heard HMK is all boom bap beats also. no heavy metal band at all. the group is called Heavy Mretal Kings but that’s as metal as it’s gonna be. whatever tho we still gotta wait for that one, Kill Devil Hills gonna be best album of 2010. i can already feel it. ILL BILL >>>>>>> your favorite rapper

    6. Album of the year right here. If you sleep on this you’re not a hip hop head, you’re a pop head who thinks he/she knows rap/hip hop. That’s not your opinion, that’s the labels telling you what to like. Label tells you to jump on Jay-Z and you do. Label says Eminem is the hottest there is, you believe them.

Listen to some real shit like Ill Bill, AOTP, JMT, Necro, LCN etc. I mean if you can’t take any of these cats music, it’s okay, you’re a pop fan without a soul.

Soul Assassins and Ill BIll = Record of the year.

PS: As for Heavy Metal Kings …it’s just a name running off of an old JMT joint featuring Ill Bill. It ain’t no Heavy Metal Music, not that I’m hating but people need to get their facts right, lol.

    7. this gonna be outta control.

muggs dont fuck around. bill doesnt fuck around.

murda muzik. throwback shit. vintage raw shittin on new flavor.

im expecting the best album of bills career.

    8. Idk man, I’m the biggest early Cypress fan there is but the Muggs and GZA album wasn’t what it should have been and I heard pretty mediocre things about the Planet Asia one, too, and I like both those dudes better than Bill. So I’ll be interested to see what they can do but I’m not getting excited just yet.

    9. This will be dope. I think the hour of reprisal gave Bill his own lane and proved that he was not just Necros lil bro. Wheres the PCP project though.

    10. This could be something great but you clowns are only checking for bubble gum claiming hip hop dead..this thing called rap is way deeper than Jay and Em!!!
