DJ Khaled and actor Drake Bell made the best out of a situation after the rapper Drake seemingly denied he’d be appearing on Khaled’s new album.
On Tuesday (February 4), the We The Best mogul dropped a cinematic trailer for his long-awaited 14th studio album Aalam of God, starring Anthony Ramos and Mark Wahlberg and co-directed by Khaled and Eif Rivera.
“This not my last album this my black album,” he wrote, in reference to JAY-Z‘s 2003 LP The Black Album, which he said at the time would be his last before retiring. Hov came back in 2006 with Kingdom Come.
Khaled continued: “FYI… DRAKE’S BACK TO WORK… SO AM I! THIS THE ONE WITH [2] DRAKES ! … NEW ALBUM 2025 AALAM OF GOD!

Drake seemed to be on a different page, however, taking to the comment section and writing, “Must be @drakebell.”
Khaled deleted the post soon after – but Bell, a singer himself, saw it as the perfect opportunity now that his name was in the mix.
Taking to X on Thursday (February 6), he wrote: Yo @djkhaled hit me up bro!”
The very next day, Bell premiered a new song titled “MIA” with ad-libs from Khaled.

The “two Drakes” idea dates back to September 2023.

During the first of two shows in on Drizzy’s Its All a Blur Tour on September 28 of that year, Drizzy recruited the Khaled to accompany him for his customary stage walk.
In true DJ Khaled marketing fashion, he decided to bring a huge sign with him that read: “I have 2 Drake songs on my new album — coming 2024.”
“When you come out with the 6 God, you gotta go hard, ” the We The Best mogul said in a video he posted on Instagram showing Drake laughing beside him. “You can’t just come out. We ain’t playing with this!”
Khaled previously released two Drake collaborations simultaneously back in 2020 with “Popstar” and “Greece.”

Prior to that, Khaled had previously collaborated with Drake on songs such “No New Friends,” “I’m On One,” “Fed Up” and “For Free.” Drizzy last worked with the DJ on the 2017 track “To The Max,” which appeared on Khaled’s platinum-selling album Grateful.
It’s unclear what may have led to the miscommunication or if there is any tension between Khaled and Drake behind-the-scenes.
