DJ Akademiks has taken aim at Metro Boomin after he reacted to Ak’s coverage of the producer beef sparked by Hit-Boy this week.
On Friday (March 10), Akademiks reposted Metro’s apparent response to a snippet of a new song by Hit-Boy that heard him fire off disses about several other producers. When Metro Boomin spotted his tweet — a screenshot of the lyrics from Kendrick Lamar’s “Rich Spirit” on which the former TDE rapper spits: “Stop playin’ with me ‘fore I turn you to a song” — he commented on the IG post with a simple request.

“Hey I’m politely asking 1 more time that you please not post me or anything to do with me on this page,” he wrote. “Thanks! (handshake emoji).”
Akademiks captured the response and immediately did the opposite to what Metro Boomin asked. “@metroboomin respectfully my answer to ur request is F*CK No. get the f*ck off my page,” he captioned the screenshot. “I don’t post for u. Nor do I care what u think bout what I posted bout u. Sincerely.- BIG AK”

In a series of since-deleted posts, DJ Akademiks continued to taunt Metro Boomin, even threatening to expose his “skeletons.”
“@metroboomin when u responding to HIT BOY?,’ he wrote. “Next comment u post on my page.. just remember.. I’m media.. ppl been tryna air out ur Skeletons. Block me. [heart emoji]. Don’t ever comment here again. We can play.”

Metro’s lowkey responses to the drama seem to indicate a desire to focus on bigger things on the horizon, including a joint project with Future will arrive in 2023.
Young Metro spoke to FLAUNT and confirmed that he’s planning to drop his collaborative album with longtime friend Future later this year.
“Definitely. I would bet on it,” he said of the chances of the joint LP making landfall in the calendar year. “I would definitely bet on it.”
The multi-platinum producer also expanded on his friendship with Pluto, with whom he reunited onstage at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena in January.

Metro Boomin reunited with Future on his Heroes & Villains album, which arrived in December. The Freebandz boss appeared on several songs, most notably “Superhero (Heroes & Villains)” alongside Chris Brown, ending their five-year collaborative drought.
The Atlanta duo previously teamed up for an array of hits that ruled the Billboard Hot 100 for much of the mid-2010s, including “Mask Off,” “Jumpman,” “Thought It Was a Drought,” “Karate Chop,” “Digital Dash,” “Low Life,” “Freak Hoe,” “Big Rings, “Stick Talk” and more.
